Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!
I decided to try something different to really see what i could do.
im more of a grunge/dark enthusiast but i really like the vector wallpapers and the feel of them so i decided to try something similar.
The main scan was really blurry so i decided to vector, unfortunately i am not very good at vectoring so in the end i decided to fill the whole scan and go for a vector/abstract kinda feel.
In the end i think it turned out quite well.
I didnt do to much to the left side because i didnt want the desktop items to go lost.

and the abstract style it's always welcome in my opinion... i love them, the different kind of traces, patterns, everything...
the butterflies in the top also are cool!! and about icons, i also think you can forget about them... many people don't use more icons on Desktop, so you should considerate that option too in the future papers... ;-)

it looks kinda odd when the lines are sharp and the other elements are blurred.. x__x
you did a naisu work on the vector nonetheless..

Ohh I really like the warm colors in this. Very smooth. You don't have a bigger version by any chance, do you? I'd love to use it, but I got a 1280x800 widescreen...
Ah damn, I thought the thumbnail looked cool so I clicked on it before I noticed that the res was too small for my desktop (1280x1024). I like the style and choice of colours though. The warm colours are a nice change to what I've seen of Parasite Eve wallpapers. It's clean and also I like your consideration of icon space. About the only thing I'd change about the wallpaper is the streak effect you have going on her body. It seems to be out of place when the rest of the wallpaper's mostly solid and sharp constrasts.
