Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!
I've been wanting to try my hand vectoring; so here it is - my first vectored character... EVER. the trees were pretty fun to do, once i finally figured out what i was doing and i like the way cloud turned out. i added a bit to the original scan and it looks completely different from the original as well, since i made a 3D pic into a 2D vector. here's the original scan if you're curious - http://www.animepaper.net/gallery/scans/Final-Fantasy-VII/item64798/
i got the idea from that scene in the FFVII movie - advent children - where cloud's driving through that forest of blue, glowy trees. ever since i saw that scene, i wanted to draw or design something similar. but not too similar (hence the 2D-ness). i hope i accomplished that!

i've decided to edit this wall a bit because the rocks were driving me crazy; so now the rocks are smaller and look a lot better (in my opinion). then i decided to make the big tree a little bigger and that interfered with the area that the text was in so i had to find a new place to put it in and that took too long for my liking. after a little more tweaking and an hour or 2 later, it's finally done for good.
let me know what you think about it ^^

but the tree in the front just looks kinda wierd. lke it should be moved over or something. maybe add someting
around cloud?

This is definietly different from the scan. I especially like the vectorin on the hair and how you got the different shades. Hmm...Im not sure whether the whole 2D thng works for me...first of all, the perspective is odd and the placement of the rocks and the grass, they seem to large in comparison to the tree. And the height of Cloud from the first tree is a kinda off...mebbe if you made that tree bigger, it wont be so prominent. I thnk it wuld have been bettr if you had just gone for the whole 3D.
Havin said dat, the trees are well done and the whole glowy effect it had in the AC movie is well brought.

Nicely done!! ^^ I liked this part of the movie too, it looked really cool, especially the fighting!! *.* The vectoring is good, not bad for your first ^________^ Hmm personally I would of liked to see more Cloud and that's just me XP I like the wallpaper nonetheless. ^^
Wow, good job for a first vector, the face isn't perfect, but going from 3d to 2d might have that effect anyways, other than that the wall turned out really well
Uhm, this wall is great...The charac's position you put in here is really awesome, but as i said, the background is too...you know...simple, just the gray and dark wood...it isn't create much style in this one...Any way, i believe that you have done a very good job, very good indeed!
