This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Well...that was a long wait for the results +_+ Congrats to EVI ;d Damn...I still don't get how those submarines and things work...
Anyway, this one proved to be a tricky one because of the psd size =.= JTsang basically did the final touches and the vector. Chaox and I worked on the bg
The original idea was a temple with a sacred garden of some sort or an abstract room with clocks. The final touch of textures added the punch to the whole 'ancient' theme. Pretty easy composition, but it required delicate lighting.
I don't think we're all quite satisfied with this one...ah well, that's it =/
umm...btw, how do you add one more person as a collaborator? =.=a
Beautiful wallpaper ^^ It's very dark and gloomy...
I really love the background, it's so detailed.
The lighting effect is great... This turns out to be a great wall ^^
Definitely adds to fave =D
Nice one, maself ive worked (not much) on the same character wall. i like this one very much. the grunge and background are awesome the blend in is nice but stil find the contrast a bit to big.. and i dont get that orange opening thing on the left. very good job, and a submerged submarine is a weapons canceller
Hmm, I like how everything blends nicely but I'm not too sure about the style for the background and font. The rectangular orange light at the left, is that a window? You could use some more balance in the composition of this wall in my opinion but it's still nice =]
Lovely atmosphere to it. I liked this scan when i saw it. I was working on EVI's Chloe wallpaper. Bad luck. I don't have a clue how the weapons and submarines and stuff works ><
Awesome job on the background! Love the texturing and great work in fitting the scan with everything. GOod, clean extraction and well blended! I lke the darkness of the wall too! Good job on this one! Favorites!
Ya, the lighting is absolutely wonderful and the textures give the wall a really nice warm/but old feeling. awesome wall! i was really torn over who's kirika wall was better, your or ours, but i suppose i should be loyal to my team ;p
I hate how good walls like this get skipped over because the thumbnail isn't necessarily eye-catching. This is one of those cases. >__< I love the grungy rustic feeling of the BG and the little window thing to the left. Good one, guys.
Congrats on the wall you three.
(I walled the Kirika wall on EVI side)
You did an awesome job with the blending of the vector with the grainy overlay, I think the vector still needed a bit of work but it looks awesome, thanks for a good fight.
This looks really nice.. i lvoe the background.. its so nicee.. and the texture is really great! great job on this one!! thanks for sharing this wallpaper! great job!
Very very nice one I have to say. Especially the atmosphere is very well done.
Some adjustments need for the lightning onher and there is some unnecessary blur on some areas but hell...it's still really good xD
You guys were some serious competition! I especially love the dark atmosphere and the composition on this, with Kirika peering out like that. The vector doesn't quite fit with the style, but I guess that's the challenge rules restricting you.
Good stuff!
