Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!
This is a litle wall I made lastnight, took about 3 , and 10 (second time it took longer) hours. Had that idea for sometime. I think I can call it a concept wall? Also, its not an original art, because I used an actual scan to make that 3D Face. Enjoy :)
Edit: Face Too jaged? Well in reality its not actualy jaged; it is cut that way, like a dimond, because the terrain(face) is infact at 2028(gigantic) resolution. Its just that when that plag-in encounters a straight down(flat) edge it cuts it up like that.
Edit: CHanged the sky, made the face bigger and changed texture.
The water is very realistic, and nice and smooth. The letters on that crazy guys thing are a little blurry, but the great effects of the whole wall I didn't even notice that blurry text after like a minute looking at the thing. This is very realistic, very nice. Did you do this in a 3d program?
Whoa, now this is new. I don't know what to say, I like the water effect and the impression of mist but I think that there are too many big, what are those water droplets? There is one on the left side, touching the water that is just way too big and is a distraction.
The spheres are really pretty. The way they are reflecting in eachother is very realistic and cool.You did well, may i ask what program you used? Also i didn't quite get the idea, maybe because i can't read all of the text in the face. I like the colours very much. I guess i'll fav this...

The blue bubbles are coming out of the water at the bottom like a lava-lamp, right? They look a little too deeply colored to have come from that liquid. I don't really mind, but it's the only technical observation I had ^_^'
I think you did a really great job on the bg, but the logo thingy is way too blurry/jagged. doesn't quite look good, i'm pretty sure you could do better! :)

Let me see if i remember the quote of teh Laughing man. I think its "What I thought I do is pretend to be one of those Deaf Mutes." lol, I think thats it and I'm loving the concept of this wall. 4 thumbs up! Awesome job, very realistic and definently keeping in touch with the GITS style.

This is an awesome wall because the 3D sphere makes the wall look so realistic and unnatural. I love how you made those spheres and how you gave it some effects to make it stand out. I still can't figure it out how its related to Ghost in the Shell by the way :P
