So tropical and fresh looking~ I already saw 2 versions of the scan in a sunset wallpaper..and well, it was kind of annoying how people assume orange/reddish colored scan = sunset bg. It wasnt exactly annoying, but just..kind of typical and unoriginal. I'm not saying my version is original, but a blue day-time ocean wouldnt be the very very first thing you would think of when you see the original scan right?
so anyways, I saw The Pirates of the Caribbean recently, and that one scene where they're on the beach...well, it really inspired me to make a caribbean bg! I absolutely LOVED that beach. The water was so incredibly pretty and clear. I wanted to make the water a little more clearer in this wall bg too, but I had so many different layers of water that it was kind of hard and I just kept it to the part under Haruhi.
I know her one arm looks a little akward because its going off the page at a wierd angle..but if you just think of it as her putting her arm on top of her stomach..well then it doesnt look so bad anymore. It looks so refreshing...just floating in the ocean and looking up at the sky. Of course any beach scene cant go without a few seagulls! And I'm so proud of myself because I made the entire ocean by myself (no ocean stock photos were harmed or used in the creation of this wallpaper! ) and I made the fuzzly little islands in the distance. The clouds are brushes from DA of course. too lovely to be handmade by me
the pretty pink flower in the front is called a plumeria. I dont know if they have those on the caribbean islands, but they do have them in hawaii. They're my favorite flower! I think they should be the state flower rather than the hibiscus (in my opinion). The hibiscus is the flower on Haruhi's ear. Oh, yes. the hibiscus. well, that was originally an orange-y red, and I had a rather hard time making that a yellowish color. but it all worked out in the end and I'm happy~ It still looks a bit orange..but ah well. The yellow and red hibiscus is the official hawaii state flower! (errr...yea, now that I look at the wall again, it looks more orange than yellow)

if anyone wants a text-less version, I can always up that to imageshack or something too.

the girl in the background (dunno her name) was from another scan that came in to MT at the perfect time! nyahaha used it to my advantage since the wall looked a little forlorn before.

time - 3 days, about 6 hours each day

oh yea...I just couldnt resist the sparkles again...

so theres a bunch in the ocean. but at least the sky has escaped from my sparkle brushes, and remain clear this time!


note to the mod : I tried making the quality a little lower, so hopefully it'll be okay this time. ^-^
