Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!
This wall was done as part of the EVI vs Defeiji challenge of doing a Noir collab. My collaborative partner in this wall was Felesya. She helped to enhance the lighting effects, added the lighting on the character's eyes & body, and added a nifty little hourglass amongst the clutter :D . She like the ultimate fixer-upper because if something is missing she'll fill it in and make it pretty :D .
Anyway, this wall features a vector of the character Silvana of Noir done by myself. Originally the head wasn't her own as the vector was originally of Kirika, but I found out that another group had already used that character, so I decided to make a hybrid and put Silvana's newly vectored head on the body XD . So, you won't be finding any scan of Silvana that looks like this ... so w00t or something :D .
The scene is in an empty & desolate room with debri, smashed glass and old books thrown about at mid-day. She has come in here seeking a place to ease her mind and has brought along a teapot and cup of tea.
The only source of light is coming from the window (which isn't seen due to the angle) and the reflection of the light off the floor. Thus, ambient lighting and the darkness effect.
A small alarm clock ticks away in the background behind her, even though it has been locked in the room for many many years, while an hourglass turned over moments ago begins to let the sand fall. Small speckles of dust float by and are only illuminated by the window's light. She remains in her thoughts seemingly caught in the past ... and thus the title.
Overall, I'm happy with the ambience and mood of this wall, as well as the slight angling of the downward shot. Comments and crits welcome ... just try to be more intelligent and say something beyond "cute wall" ... it makes me want to stab you. I'm going to go now, because for one reason or another I feel like I've been punched in the stomach XD . Yay problems XD .
* Oh, and zoom in because apparently the thumbnail makes it look like crap.
I like the ambient lighting throughout the wall and the knickknacks scattered about really makes it interesting. Great save on the vector by changing the face or head actually lol. All the noir walls have been fun to look at cause even with the collabs they are all totally different styles, this one included, anyway it's a great wall!
That's a nice surprise. You don't see that many Nior walls with side characters like Intocabile as the subject. Just for that the bothe of you get major points. Congradulations, your frankenstein experiment was a success. lol
The vector is nice and her pose on the floor in front of the tea really fits here. I absolutely love the light pouring into the room through the window. The overall softness of the wall creates a nice calm but lonely kind of feeling. Nice work.
Awesome wall. Few things though. I'll never get tired of saying this :3, when vectoring, vector EVERYTHING in shapes, no lines, or it won't look very crisp and professional. Also, all the items in the walls seem kinda flat and pasted on. The Floor and textureing is great though.
Good work! i think you guys might've won if it hadn't been for this wall. it's looks great but you guys were supposed to wall altena ;p nice work on the collab though.
Wow, amazing wall. My fav. has to be the tea cups. I love the vecotring done as well. The floor catches my eyes and the girls expression works in with this wall. I get a feel of "lonliness." Awesome, wall. I love it, keep it up. :3
Honesxtly, the vector is rather weak, it's doesn't have any real dimension and looks a bit underdone; the perspective with her, the dish-set, and the floor seems all off too, like the elements are not sitting on the same plane and it's throwing everything off.
I like it! Awesome vector work here! and wow you created everything in here! thats amazing! I love how this one looks with all the shadowing and the lighting! great concept! favorite for me!
No wonder I thought something was contextually wrong with this when I first saw it! I thought, "Silvana in a scene like this is so not her!"... and it turns out you grafted her head on. Well, congrats, you had me fooled with that. Other that the out-of-character-ness, this as artistically good stuff. Nice work!
