Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!
LL: (if you are still on) I need to have you making a group annoucement about the card game. Currently very few people are on it. I make the design, but we need set the rules soon as possible.
Not many of you will recognize this. Its actually a parody of Supertramp's album, "Famous Last Words". If there are any fans out there, you might enjoy the Lain adaptation, if not...then I doubt you'd dig such a simple wallpaper.
When I first saw the origina image, I knew I was going to wall it. It took a considerable amount of time even if it seems otherwise. I vectored the hand and the character standing on the rope from some Lain scans found on AP. When doing so, I decided to be more detalied about these vectors than my usual monochrome ones, if you look closer at the coloring and sadowing, you'd see more colors than usual. The chord I did on my own, it took a while to get the prespective of it right. The background is a simple triple color gardient..or was it 4 colors? I don't remember. Anyway, this was the first time I've used a star field in a long time, thank god I had an old of mine laying around. The final touches included the light and the texture from DA. When the whole thing was done, it lacked life. Even though the original is rather empty, I thought that maybe using slightly more vivid colors might help, and so I pulled the gaussian blurr+overlay trick.
Don't blame or request that I fix the positioning of the title or wording. I've decided to stay true to the original art and I will.
Really sometimes i love your sources of inspiration, the simplicity of the wall and the nice use of colors in addition to the cool vector work just come together for lack of a better word "awesomely" lol. Though this is taken from a cd cover it kind of fits the overall concept of Lain which is prettycool, can't say much about this but that it's well done and well thought out, and that gets a fave from me!
Although i've never heard or seen that album, i still really like this wall. even though it's simple, it's not boring and it's a cool lain adaptation of the supertrmp album. you got the perspective of the string spot on, the vectored hand looks great and making the colours a bit more vivid was a good choice.
i just wish you had a non-widescreen version..
well anyways, keep up the great work!
The idea is great and fits to the feeling of the anime.
this is a fanatstic wall there's nothing else to say about it. to bad it is widescreen i liked this to be my desktop. anyway very good wall and thanks for sharing it. *fav*
Nah, that is simply ql. i have no idea about the supertramp, dunno the guy ;] but i liked this wall straight from the thumbnail. the thing is not only it has some 'power', but the so called empty background isn't really that empty. i actually should learn how to make such brushed [?] gradients...
This caught my attention once I saw the thumbnail. I really like the theme (although it's taken from the CD cover) and it has some magic aura to it.
It is a shame that isn't in a suitable resoulation for my desktop.
Your wallpapers always catch my attention, and this one isn't any different. Can't really say much other than the fact that this well, well executed. I love the Lain feeling of it. So true, so true. Keep it up.
Unfortunately, I haven't listened this cd or the group, so maybe I miss something about the wp; buut, I think the idea suits perfectly with the series. Also, the perspective you get with the hand and all the composition is right. I've don't have nothing else to add. Good job!
The wall is actually like a piece of art! Not too complex, not too simple. It stands out like any piece of simple artwork. I like the subtle changes and how you managed to amplify the color. Definitly a fav! Cool theme and concept :)
Woo ish, I really like this glowing red string, and that strained hand.
only I don't ,like is the Lain text.
you " texture whore"...although it looks good :D
I have to say that I didn't know that album, but I love the perspective and the idea of this wallpaper, and the theme fits in so well with Lain, nice work.
I love how you stayed true the the original artwork. I loved doing the Ladytron album and I keep it almost identical. It's fun doing that kinda stuff. :D

If religion is that which binds men to one another, and irreligion that which sunders, then must I testify that I found the religion of my country in its musical genius and its irreligion in its churches and drawing rooms.
