Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!

After (almost) catching up on the manga, I decided to make a wallpaper. I think we can all agree that the Grimmjaw/Kurosaki fight in chapter 211 is pretty cool. A little light went on in my head when I saw the pages where Ichigo uses Getsuga Tenshou, and I set to it.
This was primarily an experiment in cleaning up and redrawing a scan. The original has a lot of stuff flying around: dust, rocks, text bubbles. Most of what I did isn't really that visible in this wallpaper; just the cleaned up swirls. Actually, now that I look at it again, most of the visible swirls were redrawn. Go me! I still don't consider this vectoring, though. Just... redrawing part.
Anyways, I fixed the scan and began the odyssey known as Ichigo's FACE. Ugh! It haunts me still. I look at the finished wall and think, "I should take that out, it looks dumb." And then I do, and think, "I should put it back, it looked cool and I don't like the empty space there." Sooo... This is what you get. The version with Ichigo's death glare. It gives me the vapours. :3
Hm, what else? Ah, my lovely text! All of the phrases fall into one of two categories: chapter titles or names. Stroke of Sanity is chapter 211, which is where this picture comes from. "The Speed Phantom" is from an earlier chapter (I think the Byakuya/Kurosaki fight, when we see their Ban Kai's for the first time?), as is "Denial by Pride, Contradiction by Power." Those last two I just thought were cool. The kanji on the right translates to "getsuga tenshou," the name of Ichigo's attack (as seen here). The kanji on the left translates to "Kurosaki Ichigo" (also seen here).
I like your use of texture and how you incorporated the pattern - very nice. i think the scan could be darkened a bit though (or a better quality scan maybe..). other than that, great job!

ANYWAYZ, I have this crazy obsession with patterns...whenevr I'm bored i take a pencil and draw patterns on school bks. I love how you incorporated the patterns into the dark areas. I like how Ichigo's face at the bottom has a sketchy feelin with the linear shading deducin shadows. Hmmmm maybe the whole thing should be a bit darker. But overall, awesome work ^_^

If I were to describe your wallpaper in a word, it would be "NEAT."
NEAT=CLEAN: Because it is a wallpaper made for cluttered desktops. It ain't busy but it ain't boring either. You were able to balance the dynamic images (and that luuuurvly swirly pattern) with mute colors. V. good.
NEAT=COOL: Well, it is one very cool wallpaper. I like the way you incorporated Ichigo's closeup in the lower-left corner.

Very nicely done, like everyone else said, the texture and patterns are great in your wall, its a shame its limited to such a small resolution ^^ one other thing to note is that on the right side, left of the text its quite empty over there, think it'll be better if something was there
Its a kick ass wall with style and attitude XD. I love the textures and patterns you used with the scan. The scan is cleaned up well and it looks even better now when you redraw it. I always love walls when a character is holding a weapon and is in a action pose ^_^.

I really like the style and the patterns and how everything is placed execpt that i think that there shouldnt be a pattern on ichigos coat/clothes , that it should be just plain black, maybe a bit like a vector...
Ooh manga style ichigo, i like, cool patterns, though it would work better as a wallpaper if ichigo was on the right, though i guess i could always flip it myself :P
Awesome wall I little odd the way the image is placed but never the less its still looks cool same goes for the pattern, though now that i think about it. would be a good wall for a monitor that can rotate. only real beef I got is the resolution. ither a bigger size or a wide screen version would be nice.
