Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!
LL: (if you are still on) I need to have you making a group annoucement about the card game. Currently very few people are on it. I make the design,but we need set the rules soon as possible.
Before I start: I never played the videogame "Red Ninja".
I I like the main character a lot but I never played the game once.
Ok,we can start ^_^
I started with the background behind the scroll; I made it with a long brush work and I must say
that I'm really satisfied of how it turned out.
It's exactly what I wanted.
I extracted the scroll from a stock image and I merged the drawing of a field on it
to obtain a sketch effect.
Thanks to Witchking00 for the good image ;)
I added some textures on her dress and then I redrew some small (SMALL!) parts.
Time to work with the stock photos now:
I extracted the knife, the petals the money bag and the coins and I decided their position
(probably the hardest part ^_^' ).
The last part was the blood:
I used some textures to obtain a better effect.
I know it's not very realistic but that's the best that I can do...
I added some shadows and...voilà!

Wow I LOVE this wallpaper, from the image you chose to the composition! It all looks so amazing and I haven't seen anything quite like this. The only thing that bothers me is the floating petals, it just seems so out of place because they're so ununified, maybe overlap them? Or you could incorperate a sakura tree instead? But other than that it's really amazing! Instant fav!
Great pose, love the composition. Looks almost photorealistic, apart from the way the blood spatter doesn't deform to account for the curvature of the scroll! Still well worth a favourite :P
That really is simply amazing! It's just so real and beautiful...gorgeous! I don't know how else to describe it. I was actually planning to do a scroll-type wall myself, but your wall just blew mine out of the water, lol. I guess I'll just have to rethink my technique. ^^;;

Its rpetty sweet, though the blood looks a little too pasted on, even though it is overlaying the scroll. There is blood right on where the outlaid scroll meats the fold and it doesn't look natural. But like you said, it isn't perfect, but its pretty darn close. That's a sweet dagger. o_o
Oooo WOW! That pretty assasin is in for blood and guts. Let us hope she stays on her good side. Anyway I got to hand it to you with the realistic look on those scoll, money bag, and knife, and oh blood. :o Try making another one. ;)

When I saw this wall I knew I had to comment on it cause it is damn GOOD! I love the old sketchy look of it, especially the realism of the scroll and adding several brush effects made this wall absolutly STUNNING! Love the concept here, adding the blodd spatter, the knife and coins! Perfect job in blending the scan and awesome use of stock image! PERFECT FOR ANY DESKTOP!! INSTANT FAVORITE! good job!

I have to say, youre work is exceptional, I admire your brushwork and the way you position the characters, the blending of the colors and the ambience of it all makes this wall work greatly. The map/scroll looks realistic which earns top points. I love the way you detail and make the wall unique and of course, your own. Great work warrior, I can't wait to see your next wall. =)
Amazing definitely a great setup, Love the textures in the scroll. As for the blood I would of liked more spatter then droplets. Only because I sorta don't care for the items on the scroll. There a nice touch to the feel of the setup, but it kinda takes the focus of the main image. I think the wall centered on the scroll without the items would of looked nice. keeping the main focus on the image. But over all its a great wall.
First up, i 've never played this game before too but i like this wall you've made.
the scan fits perfectly in the scroll, gives me the feeling it's really part of the scroll, really really love that.
next, the dagger and the bronze and all things in the foreground is very lifelike, love that a lot too.
Haha, if I didn't know any better, I'd say that looks like a straight rehash to Apples wallpaper.
That aside, it's really quite nice. Apart from those stocks at the bottom to the right, which seem kind of out of place, it's an overal solid wallpaper.

The way you blended the scan and the scenery background is done successfully I think. The petals and their disposition is nice too :) However the purse don't seem to belong to the rest maybe because it seems to have more light on it than the rest.

Waaaaah, nice, like it alot, i was also attracted to the scan, but since i'm no waller, thank you >3<!! (yes, this sounded obnoxious, sorry)
The only blunder i can see (usually these aren't blunders) is that the blood looked more like it was dripped on top of the paper AND blade, rather than the blood dripping from the blade, is that what you intended? I personally think it would look better with the blood dripping from the blood, and a few blood drops on the scroll itself will be perfect.
