Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!
LL: (if you are still on) I need to have you making a group annoucement about the card game. Currently very few people are on it. I make the design,but we need set the rules soon as possible.
Before I start: I never played the videogame "Red Ninja".
I I like the main character a lot but I never played the game once.
Ok,we can start ^_^
I started with the background behind the scroll; I made it with a long brush work and I must say
that I'm really satisfied of how it turned out.
It's exactly what I wanted.
I extracted the scroll from a stock image and I merged the drawing of a field on it
to obtain a sketch effect.
Thanks to Witchking00 for the good image ;)
I added some textures on her dress and then I redrew some small (SMALL!) parts.
Time to work with the stock photos now:
I extracted the knife, the petals the money bag and the coins and I decided their position
(probably the hardest part ^_^' ).
The last part was the blood:
I used some textures to obtain a better effect.
I know it's not very realistic but that's the best that I can do...
I added some shadows and...voilà!

PS: Don't blame me if this post is full of grammar mistakes, I'm under the alchool effect...

I love how realistic this wall looks. Every single element has a very tangible look to it and the scan blends in perfectly with the scroll, as if she was really originally a painted image on the scroll. The sheer craftsmanship of this wall is superb. I will now remain speechless in light awsome wall. +fav
Man, this is REALLY cool. I love how it looks so real. You did a really fine job making every aspect stand out (literally). The layers of 2D and 3D images play with the spacial mind. Complemented by great shadows and precise outlines, this makes for one hecka stunning image.
(Being nitpiky and a perfectionist (read my page) there seems to be something wrong with the shadows on the moneybag. I mean this in the nicest way, but it looks like it was put on top of the image.)

Thats an awesome wallpaper. Its been a while i see such a great rare work. You do an excellent job especially the mix between reality and anime.
The only think i noticed was the blood. It doesnt suit very well on the right scroll side.
At the left side you dont notice it because they arent any blood on the scroll "line".
I like the hole concept of this wall (and I've never seen such a beautiful picture of Kurenai +_+), but the real-life things are bothering me. Maybe they would look better painted? XD (runsoffandhides)
This is totally awesome, I saw the scan a while ago but I never thought it would turn out to some thing like this. The blood distribution and using the grass as a background for the scroll is just amazing.

Oh. First of all...Luv the idea of incorporatin the scan on a scroll. love the sketchy effect of the field and everything is merged so well. The whole thng looks so real. I especially like the knife extract cos it has so much intricate workmanship on it. The blood looks alright, glad you havent drenched the whole scroll in blood and made it look over dramatic.
I feel that the right-side of the scroll needs a shadow..And then evrythin will be even more perfect ^_^
Brilliant work. Definite fave ^_^
