This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
This wallpaper is an older one but it was a lot of fun to do. I like working with dark background colors and then using a single color and some of its hues to accent the whole piece. In this case, I've used a Lin Meilin scan, recolored her skirt, shirt and eyes to match the blue in the wallpaper, and placed her in a flower. I wanted some crisp effects in this piece so I chose some small trail brushes and a very nice set of dragonfly wings to adhere to her.
The image itself is to be taken separate from the series, anyone who sees this will know it really doesnt have much to do with Li Meilin.
Thanks for all the comments in advance.

Wow I so dig those dragonfly wings! I love the flower and the brushing is done really well, great job! :) Nice choice in colors as well. Overall it looks great :D
Wow great background, I really like it, especially with that rose in it. The scan bothers me tho...you did a good job recoloring it, it's not your fault...maybe I don't like the drawing style, or her mouth is simply too high. But anyway you did a really good job with this wallpaper, keep it up :)
What a cute wall. I really like the concept of putting the image on top of a large flower, it certainly add to the "fairy" feel ov=f the wall. Great job on the wings too! I also like the transparent bubbles you have put all over the wall.
I'm not a big fan of Li Meilin so I wouldn't really say that I like the picture but I do love the wall. Just because I don't like the person doesn't mean I don't enjoy talent. But the colors are very nice. I don't know if the font matches very well but I do like the cloud effect she is on.
Pretty wall, i love the big blue rose, it soo pretty!! The brushes are nice too, the bg also fit very well with the scan ^^
well keep up the good work!
This is really pretty! Meilin looks like she was drawn in 3-D, though... but that's cool! I love how you only used blue. The flower and dragonfly wings are nice, too. ^^
