Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!
LL: (if you are still on) I need to have you making a group annoucement about the card game. Currently very few people are on it. I make the design, but we need set the rules soon as possible.
The inspiration for this wallpaper came from Shiina Ringo's "STEM" song. I fell in love with the scan the minute I saw it... so I knew I'd end up doing something with it eventually. It took me about a week to vector it, and the background came together in a matter of days, with just working on and off of the wallpaper. The flowers and candles are vectored from the original scan, and the logo is from the same scan as well.
D: Everyone I showed the wallpaper too really didn't like what I did with the background (note to self: Don't give a damn about what other people say before-hand), but at this point I'm too sick of the wallpaper to change it around... considering I've been staring at this for literally 2 weeks.
The patterns on her kimono are from Tama's pattern website, and the textures for the wall were snatched from sxh.hu

The vector is great, and I agree with everyone you showed the wall too... somewhat. The background isn't bad, its just not fit for this wallpaper, especially since the scan is vectored. Also, the candles are bit out of shape and seem too flat. Some wax dripping down would probably help. The title also gets in the way, and it seems to have a weird border in the bottom. I think you could've done somethign better if you elaborated on the vector in an abstract manner rather than going with a scenery wall.
The background seems a little too soft in relation with the vector (which is well-done mind you) it feels as if it should have like, a dark red instead of gray. good wall though :o
I agree with everyone here when I say that the vector looks absolutely fantastic. Th background looks great as well but, it doesn't compliment that lovely vector that well. In fact, I would say that the background has too much of a dark tone for that particular image of Emma Ai. A more elegant looking background would better suit this image of Ai, given her pose, which is somewhat seductive in nature. Other than that, the wall is ok. Hope my advice helped you out a bit. Take care.
Excellent vector brom :D
my only complaint is the candles seem kind of flat but light coming from a candle can be realy tough. i've had to draw stuff with light only from candles, and what a pain in the ass it is...especially when it's real life and they keep flickering. you just wanna eat them.
i actually like the textured background with the vector. it's a nice contrast, but i think if the lighting on the candles and the light from the candles themselves was working correctly, then it would really make the whole wall some together a lot better.
but seriously brom. fab vector
now, back to kicking butt in the battlegrounds!
Yay... another wonderful Jigoku Shoujo wall :3. I like this one a lot, the vector is amazing. The coloring on Emma's face is darker in relation to the rest of the skin, and I think you shoulda just made it the same color as the skin in the first place. Other than that, excellent wall :3. *adds to favs*
I'd get rid of the blue line around the scan, it looks really awkward against the candles. If it was thinner or darker shade or both it'd look a lot better. I like the background personally and think the scan could work but the blue line really throws off the compatability.
Sexy ... but just lik wat other people said
the whole body is just not fittin with the background
jus lik you stick a sticker on the background but its still very nice

I just don't like the blue line on the scan... but, for sure, thats a good idea! Thanks for sharing!
I agree with marcoskatsuragi, I don't like the blue outline^^ but I think you can make it thinner ne?? for the candle, I think you can added more red colour^^ other than that it's nice work^^ addin this to fav ^^

A VERY beautiful wallpaper. The vector trace of Enma Ai simply rocks. However: the background and the foreground don't really go together. Even though I love the wall very much - you should improve on the foreground-background relation. Other than that: very good.. nice colors, nice style... maybe the lines are a bit too thick.. but on the other hand one sees clearly what is foreground and what isn't...

That aside, how should I put it, there's not really any sort of thing to keep me focused. Maybe if the candles were in front....
But yeah, it's pretty okay overall.

i am also making a wall inspi. shiina ringo's kuki!
i think maybe a few outlined shapes in electric blue would tie the bg better in with the image.
nice job!
Have a nice day!
