Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!

Well .. i just loved this scan the moment i saw it ...
I don't really know the reason ... maybe her soft and dreamy expression ...
At first i loved her hairs ... thinking that Clamp can make so beautiful drawings ...
While i extracted the scan i began to hate more and more that same very hairs ... in short they were a real
pain to extract ... not that difficult but tedious and long ...
I also re-cg 2 feathers of the micro .. nothing hard ...
For this wallpaper i wanted to eperiment something new ... i absolutely wanted to go for an
abstract bg
For a simple reason : experiment new(for me) things and try/learn
new techniques XD
My concept was to show her singing, and creating life all around her from her music ...
It is a long time since i wanted to work only with the "difference" blending mode ... because i always
thought it gives a nice effect ... well it just invert the colors but whatever ...it is still nice
I take the opportunity of this wall to realize 2 of my projects XD ...
For the bg , it went into several modifications/improvement ...
It didn't satisfied me ... it was just too plain and i wouldn't have beared this wallpaper on my desktop
even 1 day ...
I vectored several floral patterns from stock photos and then decided to change the whole bg and make it more
meticulously by trying to choose the best position of each plant shapes behind her
Needless to say it was quite long
And several tryes/headaches later i finally got the effect i wanted XD i'm such a slow worker ..
After that even though it looks correct, it still looks plain for me, blue shapes on plain black bg o.o
So i decided to add textures ... all are from deviant art ... one is a japanese pattern and the other a paper
texture ... don't remember where i took them ... maybe i'll edit the description later if i found them again
For the birds, i draw them from scratch taking some pics as models ...
Even if they are darker, you'll maybe noticed some clover leaves, i draw them from scratch too ...
Almost all are 3 leaves clover except for one (yeah only one) which is a 4 leaves one ...
A cookie and a year of luck for anyone who find this one XD
As for the text : maybe you won't be able to read it well but it is more for decoration,
I can provide a text less version of it if you request it ...

Except this wall gave me some hard time thinking ... :p
I also played a lot on color settings to give that effect so it's not a quickie *takes out a big gun and prepare herself
to shoot anyone who pretend it's a quickie*
The light blue on the feathers (on the micro) is normal, it is from the color of the outline in the original scan ..
On a side note : I turn all the vectors of floral shapes into brushes ... if anyone is interrested i can
upload the set on my DA account ... just request by comment or PM ...
THe brushes are rather big so don't hesitate to ask ...
Time : begun on may and finished today ... ;)

OMG! This is gorgeous! I absolutely love how the wallpaper looks like its a negative (as in the colors), but its so amazing! You can tell by the quality that its not a quickie. A quickie would definitely not turn out this good! You must have worked so absolutely hard on this. Erm, also may I request for the brushes? when I saw them first, I thought they were the prettiest brushes! Please?

The only thing that bugs me is the negative fx makes her lips look fat and it's the first thing that grabs my attention since it's bright and right in the middle. Maybe it's just me.

Yeah the difference mode is always fun to look at, you're one of the few who I've seen use it so well. the bg is really gorgeous though, it's just an original magical piece, great job on the "difference" of the overall wall.
Diggin the scan u've chosen. CLAMP's work nevr ceases to amaze me. The negative effect is really summin. And it looks really good with the abstract background and I'm a sucker for abstract backgrounds cos they are so simple in style. easy to draw (on paper; if not for photoshop) and look awesome in the end. Like the creativity in this wall and how her singin creates the birds a.k.a new life. So you have basically achieved wut you set out for.
Personally I'd prefer it without the negative effect but still this is some amzing work.
