Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!
Adobe Suite: $700. Junk food eaten while designing: $57. Hours spent working on a design when you could have been working: $350 dollars. The 10 minutes for someone to tell you you suck: Priceless
LL: (if you are still on) I need to have you making a group annoucement about the card game. Currently very few people are on it. I make the design, but we need set the rules soon as possible.
YAY! FINALLY FINISHED! This wall took me awhile to do. In fact roughly 2 weeks worth of hard work. A technical challenge, I did everything from scratch.
The Talisman/magic circle took the most time. THe lineart was EXTREMELY long to do and everything had to be precise. Even though sum parts aren't symmetrical, I tried hard enough to stay true to the actually 'magic circle' that you see in the "Shakugan No Shana" series. Used Kanji for the lettering, couldnt find any good Brush symbols that matched the one in the anime series. oh well...
Changed the color of Shana's clothes, which took 3 hours to do and then added the "flame-platform". I was thinkin about doing sumthing else but that will do.
The Text was difficult to come up with cause I wanted sumthing to match the concept/theme of the wall. I thought the burned-texture would fit nicely.
Starry background, I suppose that's my trademark. hehe I'm a sucker for night time themes.
Facts:
- MASSIVE PSD file, 73.5 megs!!
- 27 SETS!! 27!!
- Over 100+ Layers, I stopped counting after a few lols
- Again, took me 2 weeks with 3-5 hours each day doing this.
- A lot of experimental work..
- Magic Circle totally drained me out mentally and physically. Sooo much work :(
It's really an amazing wallpaper and i'm the first one to comment :-)
I'm glad you took amll this time to do the circle because it's good and looks great.
The flames are a success too and fit in the wallpaper.
The space behind is a good idea too and fits well.
I don't know this anime but i like this charater.
Good work & fav.
The starry sky is nice :) However, does it really fit Shana ?? The fire under Shana seems to be quite flat. For the font used, I don't feel that the texture used on the text is really good with the theme of the wallpaper. However, I liked the work you did on Shana for changing the colors, and the circle behind her :)
Keep up the good work !

A very lovely piece. Shakugan no Shana is quickly becoming one of my favorites, and this paper captures her essence superbly. I'm definitely faving this one. :)
Pretty neat idea ;D Though I think that the wallpaper would of looked even better if the background colour was red, it'll blend better with the character, and the talisman in the background maybe a yellow, or white but nonetheless nice job on the wall! ^.^
Whoa! OtakuGaijin this walls a glowing masterpiece.
I like the magic circle and the floating flame platform. What i really love is how everything fits together properly. I like your choice of text used. It really stands out showing who she is.
An excellent masterpiece fully accomplished

Such hard work and such an awesome wall as a result. I like everything and the text is great as well. Love the details of the magic circle and your starry sky. It's really an awesome job and there's nothing at least for me to crit, so I'll fave it :)
Awesome wall, looks great !
I love it. The chara is great, the backgroud is great and and teh decoretion is great, too. Keep it up.
Great Job ^"^! !thanks a lot !
Yep.. This is Outstanding... It would be more more more great i think, if you chose the scan from the Anime...
But this already Fantastic, I like that magic Circle.
Way the Go Otaku...
Wow. Lots of colors clashing in there. Is that intentional?
I think you should focus more on layer effects for this. It is hard coming up with a decent combo of colors.
- abstract. you don't see 'em much these days.
- the pentgram is well done but could add a little more to it.
- the text is nice done but doesn't blend with the whole thing.
- the color of the surface she's on. looks...out of place in my view.
Overall, it's a good effort on your part and you have every right to be happy with it. Hoping to see an improved version of this in the future (I hope).
Sugoi!! Nice work!! The magic circle is awesome, and the scan is good, but the background doesn't seem to match with it, though. And the text is good, but it seems rough. But anyway, still a nice job, so I'll give ya a fave!!
I really like this wall. I love the work you did on the background. The symbol behind shana looks great too. The only thing that felt a bit weird on this wall is how bright shana's face is. Other than that great work. + fave
