Well this is try #2 for a background for this vector on my previous wallpaper everyone kept praising the vector but hating the background, so I decided to give it another try. Honestly I'm not sure why I didn't do this in the first place, I like it so much more.

I made the background 100% in Illustrator using the pen tool. I used the original scan as reference, and some of it I just made up as I went along. I hate those stupid ruins. They took like 2 hours to do all those little lines.
I realize it is kind of abstract looking now, so if you hate that look I apologize. Oh and it's no use complaining about the colors (or Touya's pose) to me since I just followed the original scan (sorry I'm not talented enough to improve on it ). Well I did remove his head wrap, and all those coin things on his cloak (no way was I vectoring all of those, besides they look stupid in my opinion).

Many thanks to all the people who commented on my first version, you all inspired me to try again! If you commented on my first one please tell me how you think this one compares!

Original scan is from Random, just like the first version.

:Edit: AHHH! It's Clow not Cloud, thanks jtchen85 for pointing that out. Jeez I got it right in the title but not on the wall?!?

The ruins in the background look kind of kiddy-ish because of the effect used. Also, I think the country is Clow, not Cloud.

After comparing both versions, I like this version way better. As mention in your previous comment the Touya scan was in the day and you tried to change the colour slightly to adjust it to night time to suit with your background. I reckon that didn't turn out very good for the overall appearance of your wall. Since the bg is redrawn, the vector looks more brighter and richer in colour.
Abstract bg? not really and the ruins looks good.
I like it so much, i'm making it a favourite

It is really nice, I don´t care that it looks abstract, sometimes less is more. I like more this version, it´s more brigth and the bg fits good, I like it, very well done

I saw and commented on your previous version ... and i must say i prefer this one most ...
I love how the bg blend with the scan ... it really fits your vector XD
I really like the desert scene ...
As for the ruins ... i think lessen the opacity of all the little lines would look better but maybe it is just me ...
I'm adding it to my favourites ^^

This version of your previous walppaper is much better !!
The desert scene fits much better the character and reflects better the environment of the Clow country !!
The ruins look really nice :) It was worth working 2 hours on them !!
I must say that I prefer this version because it is lighter than the other one that was quite too dark !! The colors are nice too!!
Keep up the good work !

Great wallpaper touya. That's really a great pose of him and his sword. The style of the wallpaper is really manga like but the colours looks a bit different from a manga. I really like the background of the ruin yoyu have back there. The clouds is really creative. The sand looks great, and the folds in touya clothes is really detailed.

All in all, it's a good looking wallpaper. It's a big improvement over your previous tsubasa chronicle wallpaper of touya. The colours looks very bright and vibrant. The concept is great and the it look like you've done some vectoring. Great job on the wallpaper. Keep up the good work.
