Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!

PLEASE D/L THE WALL BEFORE JUDGING :)

I've seen MANY wallpapers featuring Saber and most of them have backgrounds that bring out her main anime character [I'm not saying thath I don't like such wallpapers though :P].

So I decided to place Saber in a scene that brings out the mythological character she actually represents.

So, there you have a castle in the plains with mountains in the distance [at least, that's how I imagined Camelot in Le Morte d'Arthur] as a background. The "cloudy sunset" atmosphere is from the mood the scan gave me.

I used 2 stock photos [plains and a large part of the sky], 3 textures, brushes for the rest of the sky and a bit grunge brushing for more complicated texture. The castle is from an image I found on the net many years ago....it was actually what gave me the idea for the wallpaper

I really like the darkness. The King is a protector and a warrior. Warriors are a light thing in my mind, very bright, but in battle, they are in dead seriousness. The darkness.

It's a fair wallpaper, except there really seems to be something wrong with her eyes. It's hard to tell whether it's a blade, a piece of a helmet (I'm not sure how it could stay upright in this case), or some sort of blindfold.

But I definitely like your idea of featuring her mythological character as the main theme.

Personally I think that the wall could of done without the texture...or at least no texture on Saber, but nonetheless it doesn't change the fact that this is a really nice wall ^^ The colours and the blending of the light and everything really XD Everything fits nicely! Nice job! ;D

First thanks for sharing. A wonderfull wallpaper of Saber. I presume this is the dark saber. Thought I coudlnt see her face clearly due to the dark shading. The castle really added touch to the wallpaper. The distance and the perspective has been considered. The atmosphere sure match very well. Did you get the inspiration form Fate Stay Night anime original osundtracks. Cause I get a feeling that it quite match up to that.

In general an excellent wallpaper creation. The dark and copper colour scheme really worked very well. Normally I see people using dark blue but you have created such a wonderfull wallpaper with these dark colours. A nice match and also the character blend nicely with the background. A hint of red on saber sword in the wallpaper also makes the whole thing stands out. Wonderful wallpaper. Recommendable and thanks for sharing such a wonderful wallpaper. Hope to see more wallpapers from you.

This wallpaper looks very good but i've never seen Saber with this hiding her eyes ...

Nice perspective and choice of colors but
you should work a bit more on the extraction of the hair,
but the work you did on the background
is rather sweet.
Nice choice of textures too, even if I'm not very sure
of their use on her face.
Nice wall, by the way.
