Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!
Adobe Suite: $700. Junk food eaten while designing: $57. Hours spent working on a design when you could have been working: $350 dollars. The 10 minutes for someone to tell you you suck: Priceless
LL: (if you are still on) I need to have you making a group annoucement about the card game. Currently very few people are on it. I make the design, but we need set the rules soon as possible.
This wall is dedicated to one of my favorite artist of all time. Hyung-Tae Kim! His work totally blows me away and makes for a great inspiration.
On to the in depth description.Well for starters I did this when I didn't have access to the net last month -_- Lets see where to begin hmmm how about by saying it took me forever to extract Mr. Kim's drawing :P 10 hours to be precise -_- most boring 10 hours of my life as well. I had to get rid of every tiny little bit of white and fix her hair so yeah it was allot of work. Now for the BG on this piece actually wasn't ever ment for walling xD I was going to use it for a photomanip with real people but I played around with it a bit and got it to work for my wall just perfectly. The clouds are a composite of lots of different clouds set to different blending modes. (note to people that want to try some experimenting you can actually make a space nebula by combining different cloud pictures together and it looks really good better than some brushed ones even) I then made a floor for her to stand on (stand over now xD) I wanted to bend reality a allot in this wall so I made the floor a mix of clouds and actual flooring. Um then I just went about and added the extras making sure I set up 3 focal points and getting things aligned to keep your eye in the picture. Well I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did making it :)
Edit: Slightly altered to the liking of some comments xD I new it was a bad idea to work on walls when my internet was down -_-
Wow. The thumbnail looked like a really stunning celestial scenic wall and now I feel a little disappointed D: Not because the wall is bad - the extraction is good and the sky and planets are suitably well-detailed. But I think you shouldn't have used the same planet texture twice like that, it looks lazy :P Because the sea does not really fade out to the horizon and the tech and dragon print are imposed over the blue lower half, it looks to me like you were trying to pull off two distinct styles of wall on the same canvas. Either a tech-art or a scenic, but not half and half like that... well that's what I think anyway. Apart from that I can see the effort you put into the wall, the colours are rich and the details are crisp. It just lacks artistic direction for me.
SUGOI! what a great wall. the bg looks awsome. i love the difference between the two bg halfs, the colors are really good. the girl looks great too. i just love this wall. defn my favorit^^

I'm really not sure about the shadow the girl is casting, the "Mystic Journey - Beyond All Limits" text, and the flying petals. ^_^; The wallpaper would probably look better without them. I love how you did the clouds, though, and you did a great job cleaning the scan (although the extraction could use just a little more work). Nice color choices, too.
Asdgasdfasdfsadf...woah....brialliant, seriously, awesome, beautifulsaasdlgkjasdlgjk perfect =D Really, no comments besides that it seems a bit busy, but that's okay =D

I like the half and half background... half with warm colors half with cool colors. i very much like the upper half though with the large moon and bright colors. The texts kinda blends in with the background though. Still good job whitblaze :D
Well I gotta agree with nuniko at some parts, the extraction could use a little bit of more work (tho after 10 hours of extracting that must sound worse than hell to you :P ), also not sure what makes her cast that shadow, looks a bit weird, but it's no biggie. Those petals are a bit distracting, the background would probably look better without them. I have no problem with the text tho. it looks cool B) Plus the background is absolutely amazing, and the scan as well. Maybe I should check out more of that Hyung-Tae Kim's works ;) Oh and I'm curious how the wall looked like before you've changed it, or if you changed it back then how it looked after you've vhanged it...errr...now that sounded weird, but you get my point. :P Anyway great work, it's ranked as a +++fav :)
The extraction could still use some work, I can see some really rough areas right now. You might want to trash the whole shadow idea, also. (Since it doesn't look like a realistic shadow at all, and generally doesn't blend well with the backround) As for the petals and text, I think the wall could do without (as nuniko mentioned previously). But you did a great job on creating a ethereal wallpaper, nice job.
