This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Haven't made a wallpaper in a while... 2 months I think, maybe more. So, I'm back! :P
2 days ago, I started watching Bebop again. First time i saw it was more than 2 years ago. It stills has that "aura" that makes you love it. It's mainly because of the amazing Watanabe (Champloo ownz too!). and of course because of the awesome Spike. One of the best series I've ever seen.
So, I opened Photoshop and started creating. after 4 or 5 failed trys i thought that "This is it! I have forgoten how to make walls!" . And then i found that pic on the Bebop Artbook "On The After" and instantly i came up with the idea.
The idea is simple : A desk and the things you can find placed on it, if that desk was placed into Bebop. The photograph is the main part. It was modified, cleaned and adjusted. The rose, for those who have seen Bebop (What?are there people who haven't seen it??!?), they know what it means. It was recoloured in some parts, cleaned as much I could clean it and blended. But it was in such a bad shape so this is the best i could make out of it. Then, a CD, which is Cowboy Bebop OST (one of the many). The little paper on the upper left may look simple but it took more than 1hour to make. Along with the words and the mainly idea. Seen bebop? You can laugh your heart out!
That's all. I won't say any more. Noone is gonna read it anyway!

I kinda wish that that rose was moved a bit, because the expression of Faye's face in that shot is so priceless, I just wish I could see the whole thing.
Very lovely. ^^ The textures look nice and everything gives off a nostalgic feeling. I kinda agree with CCSchlueter about the rose being awkwardly positioned though. I would've rathered it be smaller so I could see Faye's face, her expression really is cute.
A version without the text on the right hand bottom would be appreciated, as I don't really like text. ^^;;
It's very interesting, for make a wallpaper with all that images. The only i don´t like much it's the typography of one day... But all the rest is just perfect.
Thnx everyone for the comments. Yeah, I was in second thoughts about using the rose or not, but you know...every time I think of Bebop, a rose comes to my mind. It has its special meaning. Oh, and about making it smaller, it is possible but it would be wrong. A rose, even the smallest one, is bigger than a photograph right? I had to keep the percepectives and the sizes in order to make it closer to reality. thanks everyone again. Keep commenting! xD

my only problem with this wall, is the rose.
it's draw too much attention from the scan.
I think it was better if the disk was near the note, and near jet.
the text was in the left side, and the rose was in the bottom, where the text and the disk are now.
then the rose wouldn't be on the scan, and it will draw less attention.
still, nice idea, and great walpaper.
Quite the amazing wall. I love how you capture the characters quite well... and it feels sorta nostalgic with the theme and picture... great! i just finished the series for the first time a few days ago... so I totally can see this wall working well.
