Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!
Adobe Suite: $700. Junk food eaten while designing: $57. Hours spent working on a design when you could have been working: $350 dollars. The 10 minutes for someone to tell you you suck: Priceless
Thank goodness, I can finally get this wall here. AA is finally able to update +_+
Anyway, this wall was for the battle against puppychow16 in The Battlegrounds.
To the wall...Well, I'll have to say this wall caused a lot of probs technically. Photoshop kept on lagging and it got to the point where zooming out takes 3 min to load. Perhaps it's the fact I never flatten my layers... bleh. Used a hell lot of stocks, but I blended it to make that 'smooth' effect. I actually had this idea in mind a while ago, but never got to executing it until I made the challenge. The water was totally CGed from scratch with references from multiple water stocks. The text is horribile because I couldn't edit it...=.=a It was just stuck there after I took away my text layer O_O I'll have to say the hardest part was getting the lighting well blended. I hope you like the feel this wall gives out...it's relaxing. Btw, this wall may appear to be a bit too green for some of you - it differs between monitors. =/
Well besides the bright green grass amongst your pale colored surroundings, the fact that you took the easy way out with the animal/bird in the wall thing (XD Actually I had used that scan before so I wasn't going to use it again...), and the weird gathering of branches on the right, this wall is great with all its moody atmosphere.
I am sorry puppychow, but I voted for highknees wall, it was just so cool XD
The first time I saw it I was like man I can't wait to fav this one. It got the cool light, reflections from water, the scan matches so well, it was just a render perfect wall. Awsome job highknees, I realy like this one.
Nice dark wallpaper. Text is indeed slightly bad, shame you couldn't edit it anymore :(. But the overall quality of this pic is defenitely good. Great job!
The amount of work that went into this wall shows - the water looks fabulous, btw. i'm not a fan of the text but you apparently aren't either, so i won't be picky. i don't really like the grass in the foreground (since, if one is seeing grass up close, shoudn't they see the vertical "grain" the grass has?) but the lighting on said grass & throughout the wall is great. good job!
I personally like the grass, it adds a nice realitic touch to it, and I think its well excecuted. The blending is very well done and so is the lighting. I still don't like the piece though. xp
Nice outcome to this wallpaper
like the dark mood you created in the forest
only thing that does not suit this piece is the font but you already know that :)
well done

Sweet job yo! XD Really fabulous lighting (love the water, and the reflected light of the water ) You know about the grass and the text already, but that's it, everything else looks terrific! ^__^
See the amazing things foreground elements can do for a wall?
it's what i've been telling people all along u_u you for listening xD
anyways, i love this wall, and it really feels like you captured some amazing moment, with the movement in the water and all.
granted some things are a little weird, but it's not to the point where i'd love the wall any more if they were fixed.
so, props to you, and now ima fav like it deserves.
I barely can even see the grass so I don't know how seeing the overall wall one can nitpick about it. This is just so "WOW". The entire mood and feel of the wall just blows me away and I like the water, I'd love to be in a place like this right about now, it looks cool (currently dying in daily 100+ degree weather where I'm at). Anyway such a breathtaking wall could get nothing else but a fave
Whoa.. it loosk really nice!
is the background a stock photo?? coz it doesn't look like a real image.. you blended the character really well with the background.. i like the sunlight rays(watever you call them. lol) like the water.. and the big rock with the text on it.. great job! add to favs!
anyway! d000d this seriously kicks ass :O you must have good people guiding you *coughs* xD
