Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!
Adobe Suite: $700. Junk food eaten while designing: $57. Hours spent working on a design when you could have been working: $350 dollars. The 10 minutes for someone to tell you you suck: Priceless
LL: (if you are still on) I need to have you making a group annoucement about the card game. Currently very few people are on it. I make the design, but we need set the rules soon as possible.

we lost, but i know my army learned a hell of a lot, and thats my goal :3
i completely stepped out of my element on this one.
I'm a grunge whore, and i actually hate pop-art walls. The only ones i've ever liked are the ones by tate and gid...and it's not cause i'm their friends. They just don't whore circles, and that makes me happy :D
so, i started out doing pop-art to see if i could. and i found out i could, and i also was reminded of how much i hate it, so i said..."screw this" trashed it, and started sometihng new.
if anyone ever tells you to vector the skyline of manhattan, just kick them in the face. Take my word for it folks, it's time consuming and painful. Yes, that is part of the manhattan skyline, and yes, i did vector the whole thing.
I actually don't feel like talking about this wall seeing as i pretty much hate it and want it to burn in hell for all eternity (but not the scan, because the scan is just amazing)
the quote says..."maybe fly and fall are the same thing...they both begin with F and end on the ground" it's some lame ass quote my sleepy mind came up with that i stuck in there.
yeah, so i hate this wall, so any criticism you have i don't really care much, since i will never be opening this illustrator file again for all of eternity. even if the earth itself were to burst into flames if i didn't.
and if you hate the blur, too bad. because it's called depth perception. that and the wall was too busy without the blur. but if i hear enough complaining i'll upload the craptastic non blurred version for you all to scowl at as well.
(in case my bitching didn't hint it off, i reeeeeaaaaaally hate this wall)
oh, and have a nice day
O_o;; I don't think it's that bad... I'm thinking you prolly could've done without the text and the blur (hehe) but everything else looks nice; that scan definitely is
Oh, wells... affie time anyways, XD *kicks Dreamweaver open*
Ano... I thought this wall was awesome when I first saw it, still do. Love everything about it and geesh vectored the entire skyline? (couldn't even imagine trying that) Murata is expiring cause this scan just begs for a better than average bg be it one with the sky or the ground. You achieved that and it's one of my fave walls from this challenge. So I love what you now really hate, guess that's life ^^ get's a fave from me anyway

So sad we lost and sad I lost too :(
lol ok ammm I don't like the blurr :P but you know that already
I was gonna use this scan, but I came up with a wall title and decided to make the wall and choose a scan to fit it. This scan almost had it, but I chosen another one.
For being out of your "safety zone" you have added another quality wall to the gallery Kalico. I've seen a few walls in this black and white, pop style lately but your's is the best so far. Oh, and cities, god forbid I will never make a city again. I know how you feel when it comes to them and how hard it is to make it look decent. Thus, I applaud you even more for doing a great job with the city vector. +fav
Well, I wouldn't have guessed this was your wall if it were not for the sig XD Interesting concept...somehow I can only imagine it in monochrome colours. You're one crazy woman to vector this.... One has gotta love the feel it gives ;D +fav

I really liked the black and white/ retro / pop of this. I've been reading about / studying Twenties posters for an art history course, and this piece reminds me greatly of such posters, mainly movie posters from that time. The look isn't quite twenties, but the classy, no-nonsense look with simplistic elegance really suits this wallpaper. Nice!
I like the vector of the character, but..why is the city so blurry? I think I understand that you were trying to put more emphasis on the character, but that makes the wall look cheap-ish IMO, especially since the font seems to follow its skyline yet is so much sharper. I mean, I look at the manhattan skyline from my window every morning...and its not that blurry. :p Also, Im not too sure about any of the shapes behind the city other than the blimp. =\
lovely clouds/smoke though, I can never vector them and end up with anything that looks like its supposed to.
Looks really niceee..
i think black and white wallpapers are BORING.. but this one doesnt look boring.. it looks really interestingg..
i love the buildings and i love wat you did with the clouds.. they look.. uhmm.. cooL? lol.. some part of this wallpaper are blurry.. but i think you want them to be like that.. its looks really great
add to favorites..
Of course you like mine and gid's pop...coz we're teh shit xD j/k...or am i? xD
don't go hatin xP~ just like yoda said hate leads to misery and misery leads to katie bates (sp?) smashing your legs with a typewriter :O (refer to movie misery) xD
anyway oh enough with the blur comments sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh! i think it looks just right :D and the vector's hot..i think it might just be as hot as a fresh from oven bread along with the nice smell xD
ok enough im just gonna run off and talk elsewhere

Ooo, what a wonderful greyscale wall! So much detail, yet not too busy. I really like how crisp and clear the foreground is, so I'm not so fond of the blurred background, but it does add depth so . . . hmm. Well, at any rate, good job!
You may have stepped out of your element and you may not like pop-art, but you do know how to create such a piece well. The wall is very surreal and imaginative. The vector work is, as usual, awsome. The fish bowl swirling effect fits the theme really well and the monochromatic color scheme used here compliments the entire wall. A very fine work. +fav
This was my favorite walls out of the whole army. But why its the shapes blurry? Besides that, you done a great job at vectoring the buildings and the clouds and it flows well. How ironic that this wall is is pop and you hate it! XD This is going on my desktop!
