Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!
Adobe Suite: $700. Junk food eaten while designing: $57. Hours spent working on a design when you could have been working: $350 dollars. The 10 minutes for someone to tell you you suck: Priceless
First off, this is a birthday present for metalmallow!
it's yet his b-day yet...thats on the 24th, but he told me to submit it early if i finished it, so here it is.
This is also going to be my first entry in the vectorness monthly challenges, and it's for the month of august with the idea "color outside the lines".
Okay, so he wanted a beck wall, and my original plan was to do this elaborate concert scene and make it kick complete ass. but, i'm really lazy, and i've been working a lot, so i had zero motivation to do it. So, after flipping through my sketchbook earlier today, and admiring my sketchiness (not something i do often) it hit me.
sketchy.
what a pose like that needed was lots and lots of movement, and nothing shows movement better than sketchy. mostly gestures, but i wanted you to be able to tell what it was, and when i do gestures, yeah, you get movement, but it's too simple. so, i used the scan that i had intended, and quickly traced over it, keeping my lines free and fun.
it all evolved from there.
Thanks to whiteblaze, highknees, and JTsang for their help
and to wacom for kicking so much ass and making me my pretty tablet :D
for some reason i have "Marching bands of Manhattan" by Death cab for Cutie on repeat. I'M NOT EVEN EMO!
again...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY METALMALLOW! (Hold till August 24th and release)
EDIT:
i didn't include koyuki's face for 2 reasons. i actually hate the way it's drawn in the manga half the time (especiall on this cover) and for design purposes. the face just didn't show the movement the way the rest of the body did. actually, the face was rather static.
Kalico! you've submit a nice wallpaper.. again! ahhh.. im such an envious person.. whah! i love this wallpaper so much! simple, but attractive! Nice job!!

Almost album cover material that is! I definetly see the advantages of using a tablet for doing the "motion outside of the lines" thing and its been pulled off perfectly here.
Wow, I love this wallpaper for a couple reasons. One because it's just plain...well...awesome. I commend you on your work. And also because it's not so cookie cutter and it has this messy-in-a-good-way type feel because you didn't follow the lines. Another reason! Is because it has this motion-ie [Uh...I need to start looking through the dictionary for better words >_>] feeling like it was a snapshot during the climax of this rocking out.
Very interesting composition. Despite my need to color within the lines, this is a good example of when it works to go out of the lines. ^^ It really gives a sense of action.
Heh heh, this is a very weird and odd wallpaper. It has a nice beat to it. The electric in the background makes the wallpaper come to life. It would be a great cover for an album. Keep the work and effort up!

Yay! another fine wallpaper from my favorite waller! xD i love the color effect you used on the image...it's like a photograph that was edited at photoshop to make it look like a drawing...very nice! +fav! :D
It's beautiful. Like a roughly sketched artwork. The colorings are wonderful :3
it's good that you didn't include the face..it would seem awkward for me too.
It's look something peculiar but very unique. With just one parte of the body you can create a good concept for the wallaper, by the way I like the colors did you use.
This is a really good wallpaper...im using it now, and i like how you used a pic with the white falcon instead of lucille or the tele, which is what i see most.
