AP Featured Wallpaper!: Well, with the battlegrounds going on, we've seen a lot of incredible walls. This is one of them, that heavily deserves a highlight. K, this was for the EVI vs TLM challenge, we lost. I don't agree with the judgement, but what can you do. Unlike the last challenge I think we did considerably better than the opposing army, needless to say..they did an awesome job as well..some :p . ANYWAY. The wall, for those ignoramuses (ITS NOT AN INSULT, BUT AN EXCUSE FOR NOT KNOWING SOMETHING! if I wanted to insult you guys I'd say "stupid" which isn't the word I need xD) who don't know what Im this artwork belongs to, its from a Pink Floyd (one of the greatest bands ever) album.

"Wish You Were Here is a concept album by Pink Floyd, widely regarded as one of their greatest albums."

says, wikipedia, the Jesus of the web. If thats not a winning choice..I don't know what is. At first, I thought of using the OVA "Wish You Were Here" for the wall, since it had the image already in anime form, but I decided to be a bit more creative, so I went and dug up a death note scan. I vectored the first time Light and L share a handshake, and well...it was the perfect fit for the album cover, which I vectored as well. I own the actual vynil, so it was all pretty much supplied by teh Ish. xD I know the vector of the ubildings isn't good..but, iono..I couldn't make it better. =[ I suxxors.
At first, I wanted L to be on fire, since

and his posture was more fitting but...I realized Light would be more fitting, since he's smiling even though he's the devil incarnated...just like the man in the vynil cover. All textures from mayang and DA!

sorry for the shitty description, but Im not in the mood to make an amusing one, I almost died on my way home from Jersey. NEVER EVER! ride in a car with a drunk female who was just dumped by her boyfriend! NEVER! XD

Great vector work and i like the graininess in it. I'm bothered by the white space cos of it's emptiness but since it's supposed to ressemble the album cover, i guess i can live it.
Oh and great job with replicating it to the cover, it's a great tribute to Pink Floyd.

the vector of the ubildings isn't good..

On the contrary, I think the reduced-detail vector style worked out quite well, being able to capture the scene with much less. Excellent choice of characters to mimic the original cover, too. Great stuff!

the vectorin is smooth. love the thing at the right... burning . and most importantly. on my desktop. this picture just "POPS" from my desktop. you guys would've won.. maybe a weapon was called for. o well.

Every now and then there comes wallpapers that is really unique from the other, and this is one them. I really appreciate these wallpaper since it's really original and it really stands out from the other wallpapers. Really nice concept you've got here. Love the flames on Light, it looks really great. It's a perfect scene for the two eternal friends/enemies. It's simply a masterpiece.

Ack. Yet again we manage to pull slightly ahead via a weapon. ^^;

I really do adore this piece. It's thoughtfully done, and the scan is just too perfectly fit. When I first saw it, the white space kind of scared me a little...but after a bit more looking it seems to complement the wall in an eerie way.

Great job! Now to listen to that song...
