when you first started on it, i was a bit unsure, but in the end, i fell in love
love the use of red and black (army pride? xD)
and keeping the background abstract to better incorporate the use of a border. and even though your border is thin, i think anything else would have thrown the wall off balance.

i love the red colour.. it fit so good to the chara. and it give a lot of the focus on the chara. and like you know it's something good :)
you have done a great job with the vector.. it's so well done.. but i have to be honest here.. i don't like the border.. it's a bit boring.. but the other 3 versions are perfect :)

I liked the colors (Red, White and Black are so nice together!!)

However, I didn't like the background because of the text on it.
