This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

...well that's at least the look I was going for when I made this wall. I wanted to make the wall in the style of the bloody part of Elfen Lied. It took two weeks to make it and a lot of that work involved making the characters fit. The colors of the original scan didn't fit in so I went on a texture-frenzie XD
The dead guy in the corner I got from the first episode of the anime. It was a pain to make him fit in, but I guess that I had more success with him than with Lucy :)
I had a lot of ideas (like having the room full of blood, which was the original idea) but in the end I decided to keep it clean. The logo also took many forms before the wall was done, but I decided to go for a simple and clean style to make it stand out a bit. The text from the song called "Dead end" by In flames.
Ooo, creepy. And your little monologue didn't help much to ease that feeling.
It wasn't until I view it full-size that I noticed a lot of the little details you put here and there that at first get blanketed by the darkness. But all in all, it really stands out, if on freakiness alone. Simply put, I like it.
Dark and evil... I like it :D It's just that the show freaks me out with all the blood and stuff. Anyways, nice wall. I think making the background a bit lighter would make the girl (Lucy, I think) stand out more. Otherwise, nice wall.
Nice work with the scan ;) It blends well into the dark background now. Even though she's in the light and they're in the dark ;P I like the lighting though ^^ It's really well placed. I think a little more blood would of finished the wallpaper ;) And maybe change the font to a more blood sort of one XD But hey, it's still a cool wallpaper :)
Lovely stuff from you, man. I'm envious on the way you used the texture. Nicely done. The only gripe from me is the text. Wish you can blend it more with the BG. But what the hell, a fav from me.
I like darkness, but even in fullview, i still can't see the details clearly. may be its because if my monitor.

though I think you need some fixing on the forest just on the top of the hand.

The composition of the wall is very nice. My complaints wold be the text, the font is too nice, a scratchy and bit darker choice would have been perfect. The character of lucy also could use a little ore clean up but other than that, Its a very well executed piece of work.
Damn! That's just scary! No matter how hot she looks only partially covered in those bandages, she's still a scientifically made cyborg with the potential to kill. Get in her way, she will strike. It both ominous and creepy. Nice work.
I really do love the artwork itself but the text is a bit off. I'm not sure what font I would recommend but that one wouldn't be my choice. I would also recommend not making the text that prominent. It would be better if it were a bit darker or somewhat transparent.

Anyway, I used a lot of textures in this piece;
Old wall, Weathered Concrete 3, Papel Fundos 4, Waste ground rag, Body cuts 4.
These were used over and over and over in this wall.
I hope you all like it. I think I'll take a small break from dark walls after this :)
EDIT 2: There. AP downsized the quality of the wall automatically since the file was too large (it looked awful :C ), but I've fixed it now.
