Our highschools have their own "specialty programs" the school i went to was a communications technology school, we had all the "fancy" technology stuff. Such as advanced computer classes and equipment. This year we got brand new computers.

Off the bat, let me clear up some things.
No, I havent seen the series. ;) It should be obvious anyway with this wallpaper's theme.
Anyway,I've always wanted to try a silhouette piece but I've found I've never managed to pull something beautiful off. This time, I decided to use this image, which is so beautiful on its own, as the silhouette. He was looking at something or somewhere to go and I got to create that something! It was an all exciting process. After scouring Stock.Xchng for a decent hillside scene, I came across a beautiful one and used it, after running it through the basic filters to make it more anime-colored instead of realistic. The original image had only one rock on which he could stand so I extended the rock, added some grass, and some lively night insects to give his rocky pedestal some life and flow. I then placed it before the hill scene. I made the image very dark, as I wanted to portray a nighttime scene. I also tossed in a couple of planets in there, ones with some real texture and color fluidity instead of the usual slapped on brushes. I found another stock image that had flowing mist and surrounded the planets with it. Overall I think it came out allright.

Noo!! I forgot to comment this in Session Zero T-T Ah well, I'll make up by commenting here. The sky is dead beautiful. The colours and everything fits togethre so perfectly XD You've truly made something beautiful =D I'm wondering why the light source of the hill the character is standing on isn't on the top but from the bottom O.o Besides that, I really ahve no complaints. btw, you did an excellent job of the grass =D +fav ;D

The character extraction isn't very good. There is a place in the middle of the sky where it looks like the brush ended... Naota looks like paper. Everything else if great. +Favorite
all in all your wall is awesome but needs more tweaking and dont mind me pointing at the planet xD it's just my "planets should die" mood kicking in xD lol

Not too sure about the green glow of the moons, and yeah, Naota could use some cleaning up. The smaller moon looks really weird. ^_^; The stars look too faint and I think there are too many of them, so it makes the sky look noisy. And there's this vertical line on the sky (left side) that bothers me a bit. You can fix it with the clone tool, it's no big deal.
The flowing mist looks really cool, and the hills definitely look better then before. :) I also like how you put Naota in a nice and peaceful atmosphere like this.

but when i enlarged it, it needed a lot of tweeking.
basically, take a look at what tate said, and you'll be good to go.
the wall has a really nice feel to it, but it has some issues with extraction and blending that need some serious attention. if you fixed up those things, it would be a definite fav from me.
Well like the other have said it could use a bit of work, but I think it looks awesome and has allot of potential if it just has a bit more time put into it. :D
I did a double take on this. at first i just thought it was another wall, then i realized it was naota, then i gave it a harder look. i think its a decent wall, though i'm not a fan of the two moons, i think this wall is brilliant.
As mentioned before, the character extraction is a little iffy, but the rest of the wall looks fantastic. :hi5: You did a beautiful job with the background (I'm quite envious of your blending skills). Fav.

I AM SO JEALOUS! wow...this wall COULD be the best wall ever...most have already said what i think, but i just have to say i dislike the comets.
i also think the furthest hill doesn't flow well into the sky.
but i lurve the colors.

Ooh...hmz...the large version still got a few down points... hmz..like...I dunno about the green glow about that planet, the little planet got the same green glow at the part where he overlays the big planet. oh what is that bubble looking thing at the small planet =O? looks weird. or..did you made a half visible moon? hmz...if it's so...then..you need a few changes on the planet cause this looks odd ^^"..the sky is nice but I see a dead layer on the left .... (a line where your layer stops?) your landscape is funny, cause it got another effect/filter in it, looks softer then other things, but it still looks kinda green, better blend a red colour in it to match the other things. about the scan, it needs a better blend in the bg and i think the extraction work could be better. the foreground looks good. it's a nice wallpaper with a good idea, it's just a few little flaws that should be fixed. keep the works~!

I can see clearly that you don't know anything about FLCL. The moon is kinda too cliche for this anime. And the colors are also not fitting. The extraction of the character is not very clean, you should put more effort in it. Apart from that the scene is mainstreamy, I like the glow effect in the grass. You should watch this anime, too.
It's a neat wallpaper, nice job ^^ The grass and insects are beautiful and the weather are perfect ;) However, the planets are a bit too bright, you should make them darker or lighten them to give a feeling that its not too close lol Overall, nice work :)
Tate's critique made me LOL. Funny but sadly true though.. there are some messy bits and pieces here and there in this otherwise beautiful wall. You could make the glow around Naota much softer and more diffuse and it would fit the lighting quite well, though.
Pretty good, but like many others, i find the character extraction can use some improvement. The moons (or whatever they are) are beautiful! You ddint' overdo the fireflies at the bottom, the wisp like clouds are very delicate and calming but i would prefer the clouds to be place higher on the picture.
