As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!
Ha ha ha now I'n super anoying on the next level next ima grunt a strain for 15 whole minutes! until veins pop out and my my hair glows yellow like i was a part of some nuclear fall out
Since I am freshly addicted to xxxholic, CLAMP's new masterpiece, and had to find that there are practically no wallpapers of my beloved Doumeki-kun, I decided to make one myself.
When I was reading Volume 8, one of the black and white chapter title pictures almost leapt at me: Doumeki-kun lying on his porch, staring out into the night. The original picture also included Mokona and humonguous amounts of smoke, but I decided to keep them out, for clarity's sake.
Well, back to the wall: it was done exclusively in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Everything in this wall is vectored: Doumeki and parts of the wooden porch and screen doors are from the original scan, the lantern is vectored from a stock picture found on google. The only things NOT vectored are the textures (again, stock pictures with change opacity) for the wood and the grass. The writings on the lantern, by the way, are the kanji (if I'm not completely wrong or mistyped) for "Doumeki" and "Hitsuzen" (fate).
The title is somewhat a (bad) pun on Doumeki-kun's last name: fittingly, he is called Shizuka Doumeki. Since shizuka (a -na adjective) can mean "quiet" (let us just disregard spellings and kanji for a while), it perfectly fits not only the silent hero but in a way also my humble wall. (By the way, "Shizukana yoru ni" means "In the/a quiet night".
Last but not least: I dedicate this wall to my best friend Christina, who loves Doumeki-kun just as much as I do.
Everything looks quite fine although the whole image seems to slide to the left. I mean, the perspective angle is too extreme for the doors to look like this. Anyway nice vectoring and tecturing.
Nice wallpaper! I like your idea of Doumeki-kun lying there staring out at the sky with the little lantern. The simplicity is great too! The bg was well done and very original. The title is briliant too, I like it :)
Nice job, keep it up!
Hum, (after full view) nice wall, little different than the other holic wall. Good vector for doumeki, and great backround, you choose a nice view for your wall. I don't know why but i love the light you put next doumeki.
Nice vectoring job done on the wallpaper ;3 I think you could of used some texture on the sliding doors ;P Just to add more feature to the wallpaper ^^ And maybe some Sakura petals :P But the lighting coming from the lantern is pretty well done, overall not bad ;) Great vectoring.
Wow! O.o i kinda like this wallpaper. everything is calm and relaxing and its clean. lol the only thing i have a problem with is the grass. X_X looks... >> i cant think of the right words for it. lol
great job though.

Sexy! I really like how you did the lights using the latern, very nice. I would have left out the textures, makes the image look a little grainy, but its still great.
Nice vectoring Caya :). the lantern is a nice touch too. my only problem with your wall is that it's a little plain. maybe adding in some glowing fireflies or something would add to it more.
that's just a little suggestion though. it's still nice as it is ^^.
keep it up!
Heh, nice pose. The lantern on the character's side seems to look awkward in perspective; maybe it's just me. The wood stands holding the floor up doesn't look right either; again, it might just be me and my sense of perspective (or lack thereof...). It's not bad, makes for a nice, chill desktop wallpaper.
The vector is well done.. i like the texture you have used.. you need to work more with the perspective.. it's just to odd.. more than that i love the colour.. :)
