This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.

Well, I decided to make a wallpaper to take a break from the numerous vectors I'm working on. And yes, it's a vector wallpaper. Addictions are fun!
I really like Jigoku Shoujo's animation style, and I really, really like vectoring it. Recently, I've been experimenting on designing posters using only black, white and one other color, so I decided to try and make a wallpaper in the same style.
Time - 2 1/2 hours

I'm pretty content with the results. I wanted to do something that turned out to be impossible with the text, so I just kept it red. Thanks for the suggestion, Highknees. I made the top of the hat black instead, I thought it stuck out too much too. I wanted to keep the brim there, though. ;)

Hmm...not a bad concept at all...I think your focus was supposed ot be on the girl, but the contrast on the man's hat was too much. =/ I dunno hwo to correct it...personally, I'd put the hat in more shadow =X Well, besides that, +fav

I like it, the only slight flaw I notice is the hat which somehow seems cut off. On the other hand if fully displayed it probably be to high for the wallpaper (like you said yourself). Further the design seems clear and neat, next to that I really like Jigoku Shoujo. So overall a very nice wallpaper, keep up the good work!

Simplicity + vectoring, what more to ask for? superb job with the vectoring! and the black/white/red theme really works. the red eye chills me though--freaky, which is good. the guy's had distracts a bit, but that's okay. awesome wp!

Hm, very intereting and extraodrinary. I like the mixture of white, red, and black colors. Simple yet it has it's own creativity. I don't have much more to say but that this is an astonishing work!
Uwah! Just great vectoring! I really like how you've portrayed the scan! And I like how you've made some eyes really stand out, like a really vibrant red! I think the eyes are the best part of the wallpaper :D Like where the light source is coming from :)
