Our highschools have their own "specialty programs" the school i went to was a communications technology school, we had all the "fancy" technology stuff. Such as advanced computer classes and equipment. This year we got brand new computers.
I have scans to make posters out of. Having a school with a $2000 printer is awesome, i have to pay for the Gloss PosterPaper and Ink but thats cheap. hmmmm i might make this wallpaper simple since i dont want to try anything to crazy.
Tama-neko has made another solid wallpaper with this Gankutsuou wallpaper, highly detailed and matching the odd style set in the Gankutsuou series, this wallpaper is a keeper!
Revenge... is best a dish served cold
Sure, it's an old cliche, but that's what's sung in the ending theme to Gankutsuou, and it's not cliche for nothing - it fits the personality of the Count quite well.
I've finished watching Gankutsuou so it's time to make me some more walls! The bishounen flood continues (after slight derailment by Kino wallpapers, which are always top priority :D) with the Count of Monte Cristo. Scans from here and here. I removed Albert, because he's such a pansy. Redid the patterns and all. I also patterned the outlines for more effect.
The celestial mobile background was drawn in Illustrator based off of the intricate clockwork mobile at the Count's residence in Champs Elysee (basis), using Clock of the Sun and Moon as a starting point. Drew in the eye-compass (a creepy thing I must say) and added all the little floating spheres, including two constellations; the (big) Dipper and Cassiopeia.
The starfield is an old one I had from a Stellvia wallpaper with numerous modifications. I ended up making the entire background golden to contrast with the Count's blue hair and face and to match with his outlining.
I wasn't originally going to make this a celestial wall, but when I was positioning stuff, I dumped in the starfield so I would have a non-white background, and because the original scan was celestial. It looked pretty good like that, so I stuck with the idea.
This wallpaper is dedicated to KiWiB0RG who was sweet enough to send me most of the episodes after I got frustrated with the lack of xdcc bots serving this series in AniKraze's channel.
EDIT: As per some comments, I've changed the text to the same blue as the Count's hair. It makes sense, since "revenge is a dish best served cold".
EDIT2: I pulled the title of the wall directly from the lyrics to the ending theme; Jean Jacques Burnel altered the pattern of the words to fit the beat of the song better. You Won't See Me Coming Lyrics
I really like this one too, the background style fits perfectly with the show (you've even replicated some of the elements from the count's sanctuary!) Attention to detail ownz :D I think the only thing I'd change is the patterned outlines on the count. If they were a uniformed darker shade of gold (as it is in some places) the image won't seem so outlined and look more together. Oh, and I liked that gold text XD
Wow...so many things going on @_@
u did a pretty gud job putting everything together @_@!
the starfields and the clocks and all that stuff is pretty cool >xD.
The only thing I didnt really like about it is his huge black cape...I think some subtle textures would help make it less empty.
my other gripe is ...the gold outlines. Its cool and all, but...it seems to take away sooo much from the cool bg you created. some of the lines are rather jaggy especially near the point where his cape is tied and it seems to just seperate him from the bg.
dont get me wrong......well besides my wacky complaints, its still a really nice wall. I really like teh BG @_@!

I really like the bg too. And it really fits with this anime. I like the outline of the character too and none the less, the icy cold hair. Nicely spread star dusts on the bg and I can't make me stop to say "This wall is way awesome!"
It's pretty damn awesome - congrats on the feature.
Though for me personally the "is best a dish served cold" instead of "is a dish best served cold" bugs the crap out of me. But hey, I'm seeing a psychologist about that and the medication seems to be quelling the grammar rage, so it's all good.
I really like it.
I really like the Gankutsuou art, even though I've only see around 5 episodes of it.. XD
The eye compass is pretty creepy as well. >_<
Keep it up!
I gotta agree with trismugistus. But it's all good. Anyway, except for the slight bevel in "Revenge" (I tend to hate beveled text, although I have to admit that it looks stargely good in this case), it's probably one of the best wallpapers I've ever seen.
And I don't even know anything about this anime. At all. ^_^
I wish I had your talent and your patience. I think the outline on the count could be a little darker. I'm not sure if it will look better that way, but you could try. ^^
This is a superb wallpaper. I'm in love with all the detail that was put into it. I have yet to see this anime and getting ancy about it. You really brought out the style of the series very well and the BG work is beautiful. It'll be a while before I have that much patience, however its all in good practice. I must keep an eye on your works. Thank you for sharing this with us.
It's a nice blending of colors; I change my desktop routinely, to avoid boredom, but I kept this one for a while. The gold really does look good with the Count, and it adds to his coldness in a way, making a big contrast.
I like the background and general composition of this piece, but the hair across his face makes it look as though he has a mustache, which wierds me out a bit. Still, a good work! And don't fret about the line being a cliche - it comes from the ending theme (if you listen to the whole version on the OST, and you should because the OST is wonderful) which makes it a good choice.
This wallpaper is a shining example of the artwork that made Gankutsuou so wonderful, as well as what makes your walls so great, Tama. I love the starry look, both in the background with the gold clockwork... thing, and in the foreground, with the Count's hair. And, of course, the Count's presence adds greatly to anything's cool factor. Outstanding work.
(I hope this doesn't read too much like the praise I gave this at MT; I don't remember what I said then, and haven't gone looking for my comment, but I hope I said something new here.)
