After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!
Well ... my entry for the battleground challenge Vertigo (EVI vs Morrow days ) ...
We won ... barely but we won anyway
I must admit that the other team's walls were fantastic and i was surprised with the results ...
Of course my comrades walls were amazing as well ...
Anyway ...
I wanted to wall RahXephon ( that spelling kills me each time i want to write this word ... ) ever since i saw Kalico's wall : Sunday i'll be gone ...
After the challenge was set, i remembered a truly awesome scan i saw in the RahXephon gallery and decide to wall it ... RahXephon scan
It was just a perfect scan, good dimensions, excellent quality ... ready to wall ... some kind of scan you are glad to work with ^^
I was hesitating between a grunge/abstract look and a scan extension with cloudy background and so on ...
After consulting my team , i decided to go for the scan extension thing to keep the oil painting effect of it
To fit my idea, i had to re-cg the scan to remove the text and complete the wing ...
Of course the re-cg is not perfect but i keep pratising it ...
I then extent the sky .. it was pretty hard to keep the brush strokes "texture" since the sky areas were not that big ...
same thing with the clouds ... it was hard to find some that fit the paiting style of those already presents on the scan ...
I added the Robot because i wanted to wall on the concept "Falling Angel/ Raising Angel" ...
Plus i add depth into the wall ... even though i have the feeling that i didn't blurry it enough ...
...finally i added crackles to let people think it is like a fresco in an abandonned temple or something :)
PS : I never wathched RahXephon .. hence, i'm still downloading the whole serie ...
So please be gentle if this doesn't really suit the show ^^

I knew this wall would be a winner even as you showed the draft versions to us - you've managed to pull off an excellent scan extension of the wing and sky, keeping with the painted texture and feel of the original scan. The cracked fresco texturing is a very nice touch. Brilliant stuff, a sure +fav with a giant pat on the back. Good job!
Absolutely wonderful wall! Realy amazing, I love the fresco style! Just like some painting from Michelangelo =). My jaw felt down when I saw it. Great job with the wing and clouds and scars and... everything.+fav

You made a beautifull wall Elfe-noire...i love it by all my heart...there is so mcuh pain that i just cant stop look at it...you had a great idea about making it in fresco's style (??) anyway it's one of the best wall in last time...of course + to fave :) and pls keep it all up :)
Well first of all it's a fav (not surprised huh?) the let's talk about that wall it's just like a master paint we can see in museum (ever got the idea to expose your work at the Louvre?) hum... what to say more (other than: "Will you ever stop making so long description :p") well wish I could have a screen to seen it entirely (oh my!! the price... I will buy those latter... lol)

Walls like this are the reason I'm glad the Battleground was created. Even on full-view, I found it impossible to tell which parts of the scan had been extended or redone. Awesome work.
