After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!
The kodamas are mourning over a fallen autumn leaf!
[Background info: the kodamas are supposed to be forest creatures that help preserve the greens.]
My walling inspiration: Interpretation/Storytelling.
I love pictures that tell a thousand words. I love artworks that have meanings beyond the pretty colours. With anime/manga walling, I usually try to relate it back to the original story and give a short intro in the description so that people may become interested to read/watch it.
My inspiration for this wall came from Ghibli/Miyazaki's trademark quirks of having mystical creatures, characters with child-like innocence/mannerism and messages about the nature - here showing the kodamas getting upset over the leaf dropping, almost like a child losing a candy.
That said, this wall came about like accidental babies.
Seriously, it's been a crazy month with my wedding coming up in a few months and I've got a million things to do. Yet coming home tonight at 11pm I had a massive urge to wall which I really want to (and have to) finish tonight - or else I won't have time for another 2-3 weeks when I get back from holidays. Need for speed.
With the Simpleism project in mind, a super-minimalist wall is the go - not as much details to go through because I do plan to sleep at some point tonight x_x Choosing a Ghibli idea was an easy decision - totally adore their stuff and Princess Mononoke is no exception, so I'm glad to have finally made a Ghibli wall. For the Vectorness challenge too.
Well it's 5am now (lolz!) but I did it - my fastest walling ever: 6hrs from concept through completion. And killed 2 birds with 1 stone too - sweet!
Drop me a message for more resolutions.
Hope you like it - cheers! ^^
I love it's simplicity and the negative space, since both are very appealing and nicely done here. The kodama are so silly looking as usual, and the vector's lookin' good. I might have preferred a thicker stroke for the lines, but I'm not sure how it would look, exactly.
Anyway, cheers for this one, because it's cute, and with lovely colors to match. Good luck with the challenge!
I have to say that this is THE most simplest wall I have ever seen and yet ITS SOOO damn GOOOD...lols I mean the quote is fits the Princess Monoke theme (I like the movie) and I definitly like those little white dudes that come from the forest! very good work here! Favs :)

Cute + simple + Ghibli + fast! = . I'm making a wall for the Vectorness challenge, and I'm using Mononoke-hime too [though it won't look anything like yours, lolz XD]. Anyways, good luck with your wedding [though it's a ways off :O]! Great wall.
Sup monchi! wow. I am constintly talking about 'simple at its best'... and this is simple! but extremely clever. it remeinds me of how I felt about them when watching the movie for the first time... and a great wallpaper too ^^
Hehe... the kodama's are so cute... the dead leaves remindse of the scene in the end... when they're all falling... there's alot of negative space though... but it does kinda draw my eye to the middle.
Aaw... I've always loved the little guys, and I've been hoping that someone would make a wallpaper of one. This is really sweet-- the only difficulty is that it looks a little bit bland and empty. Very nice job, though.
