This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
A wall that was made back in August but never had the chance to submit it. I was keeping it as a Battlegrounds backup for the opportunity which never arrived.
The wall was relatively easy to do and involved a lot of mixing-and-matching of a few effects which I created during my spare time in the past (all saved on psd). Layered some grungy-lite textures over Asuka to enhance the somewhat rustic tone which were already present in the original scan.
Incredible scan...i never saw it before O.O. NGE is my number 1 anime XD. The wall is great, personally i don't like the red..., bue the wall is incredible, sc great, bg nice.
congrats! ^_^
I really like what you've done. The tone for the bg really fits the image of Asuka, and I really like how you've created the illusion of depth with the lights. Great job!
Ah! Nice wallpaper! I like the look on her face! ^-^
I have allways liked the grunge effect wallpapers but can never do it right myself... You have pulled it off very nicely! ^-^ Great JOB! Favorites!
This picture really makes me feel sorry for Asuka. I've never seen that picture of her before. I really like to overall look of the wall and how well everything blends together.
The rendering is very good. Her eyes are a bit electrifying, but that can be taken as good or bad. I say good, though. Hmm.. that is all I can think of. XD Anyway great job. It looks really nice.
Holy Crap man... I've never seen this scan before, And this is a really good wallpaper, its already on my desktop, I'm adding this to my favorites as well.
Wow, I'm not sure how I missed this. It's really cool, especially how you created a suitable environment out of nothing. The colors and atmosphere definitely portray whats going on in Asuka's mind. XD
OMG! I dont know where you got that picture but I love it. It has so much attitude. The picture can convey so many things, however when I see it I am reminded of her personality and this paper definately does her justice.
