This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.
Lol Really? Wow You always seem to Surprise me tide-kun. Well hey im going to get some food and think about the nickname i'll make for you *Huggles* Take care Buddy Bai Bai =]
^ Hope that title hasn't already been used. It sounds familiar somehow, but I just can't place my finger on it...
Anyway, this wall was done in tribute to the Elric boys, as yesterday was Oct. 3. (The day they burned down their house.) I had this idea for a while, and finally decided to go through with it. Gat's GITS render inspired me to work on it again, even if it's super ghetto compared to his. :P It took several solid hours to model everything (From scratch, mind you.) and arrange everything. I used a couple pics from Mayang's texture gallery as decals, as well as my own vector for the transmutation circle. The entire set-up was based off this screencap, one of two rooms of their father's study. This took FOREVER, and there were tons of problems along the way, but I'm happy with the end result.
Hurray for the elric brothers >__< I'm loving fma more and more 3
wow.. the chalk looks great o__o
i really like the way how you made the floor and the transmutation circle..
it looks very realistic! *o*
but i dunno if the bg should be that blurry.. x__x
anyway great job, favie for ya and many candies for the elric brothers xDD
The fact that you can kinda see textures in the blurriness of the BG is kinda weird. (Just kinda went splat huh?)
But still, the concept is cool and the fact that you made it from scratch is doubly cool, so even though I wouldnt use this as a wall (Like all the others I download- Just to look at the pretty pictures...) I'm gonna have to give you a scratch-and-sniff sticker, a pat on a back, and a fav for the utter insanity.
You've used a very interesting perspective for this wall, and the fact that it was all made from scratch is really cool. I also really like your reasoning for making this wall - the tribute to October 3 was a neat idea. Great job!

Nice job, I realy like the perspective of this wall, it is awsome, it captures yet another side of this anime. Two things only that I don't think are right, is that the flour is blurred and it doesn't have enough detail up close, and the other thing is that the chalk does not skeap where the wood pieces come togeather. Either way this is a hell of a piece of work, and Im glad that you decided to keap working on it ^_^ +fav
Its hella cool, but it could def. be tweaked up a bit. I really can't stand looking at an image where most of it is blurry, even if its actually excecuting a certain technique, but its still an awesome and original piece..especially for the FMA gallery.
I think...the only thing i really like about the wall is composition and perspective. the modeling is decent, but what upsets me greatly is the ack of lighting and lack of textures. i'd imagine you were going for that cartoony look, but it's not really there. and if you were going for realistic, it's not there either.
i dunno what program you were using, but if it was 3dsmax or maya, i know all you'd need to do is play with the hypershade and throw in some lights with raytracing and the wall would be a thousand times better with just an extra 15 minutes of work. if you used bryce, well, i know bryce's capabilities are way more shallow than a program like maya, but i havn't used it myself. even so, i'd imagine it's lighting capabilities are enough to at least enhance this image.
overall, i find it's kind of plain. the lack of lighting is a shame, because in 3-d, lighting is half the project (i had a 10 week project, and i modeled for 3 weeks, lighted for 6, and tweaked for 1). It's a nice concept, and composition is great, but the technical aspect is lacking. and unlike ish, i prefer the sense of depth. so you get a cookie for that :3
Oops! I forgot about it was yesterday. I can't believe I forgot though. TT_TT Well anywayz I really thought this was very creative and interesting. I has such a different perspective of looking at it. This was a good idea and I love the dimension of how it looks real. +favs ;)
I like your choice in point of view. it really makes everything seem more important. in one hand you have a view that most people don't normally look from, giving it that extra feel and in the other hand you have that consciousness of one's surroundings amplified. like someone truly seeing the sky for the first time in a long while kind of feeling.
I didn't comment for a long time, so my brain is currently in a *no-smart-comments* mode >_<
Still, I think you made a great wallpaper, so it's a fav for sure ^_^
Very unique; I almost couldn't tell what it was, but when I realized it, it was just amazing. I like how it looks like Ed and Al probably just got up from their work. Wow...
It's cool the wallpaper..but if the chalk wasn't there ..I'd say that this isn't a FMA wall... sincerly... Neither Elric Brothers ..or someone is in this wall...and neither a title..somewhere...

This is really original! It doesn't have any of the characters and it's really simply done. I really like it. How you can just see the array, and the chalk in the forefront; it's very cool.
When I first saw this wallpaper it really struck me. The unique angle and focus on small detail is a great idea. The overall quality needs to be brushed up a bit especially when focusing up close so much. I'd like to see you apply the same idea in other wallpapers. Keep up the good work!

Great idea. :D

my heart will always be with you ♥
That's How Love Is!
great work!
I like how you left the piece of chalk lying there with a mark of chalk on the floor that doesn't go into the transmutation circle.
Very nice! Keep it up! ^_^
