This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
This was supposed to be my hands-on practice as preparation for the media design school that I’ve just enrolled with. But later I’ve changed my mind and decided to submit this here.
The idea was to make a wallpaper thats dark, and gritty. I chose Hakkai from Saiyuki because from all the scans I found, his pose really suits the concept I wanted to make and he’s my favorite character from the series.
I even made 2 versions of it. Anyway enjoy the wallpaper.

That's a cool wallpaper! You used grunge effects both on the wall and the scan really well. We noticed blood splatters on the lower left which makes it more and more realistic. Though we think you sig ruins it kind of little. For such a good wallpaper to have this sig? Maybe it's just us... Anyway... (fav)
Absolutly LOVE the dark tone to it. The blood does a wonderful job of adding color, but not to much color to entirely overpower the black, just adds to the over all apeal. The picture seams to be wonderfully blended with the backround, and flows marvelously. I like it very much! Excelent job!
Nice wallpaper, accept i would have been alot better if
he was colored, then it would completely be outstanding,
i still like it, but he's not standing out much, the background
is nice, and the nice little blood splash also look nice, great

the blood splatters are really a good touch, i like it alot. i love it's darkness, everything goes together and it makes him even hotter than he usually is. XD

Nice concept and good choice of the character. Hakkai is very suitable for this kind of dark walls because of his past ^^
I like the blood on the background, but I'm not sure about the disposition... also the background looks kinda empty like that... Maybe you could have worked on it a bit more?

I love the feel that this picture generates. Howevever I feel that maybe a shadow would serve your purpose better, than shading the left side of the picture.
