This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.

Yay! My very first grunge wall. When I saw this scan at the Fruits Basket section I just said to myself that it would be perfect with a grunge background. The result is what you see before you. I followed Debs' advice and used a lot of brushes. I also used some stock photos that again came with one of my editing software. But the stock is hardly noticeable now. I will gladly appreciate all comments specially from the grunge experts. Anything to improve my wall making ability. Hope you guys like it.
Note: I couldn't think of any other title to go with it ^_^

I think her light skin stands out a lot in the dark background, but I like it like that. The text is lost in the background, I can hardly see it. I also think the flower brushes on the left could have been sized down, but other than that, I think the scan suits the grunge look and you did a good job with this wall for your first grunge. Nice job.
This picture is one of my favorites. Rin-chan is so beautiful in this picture. If only haru-chan was there.

For the most part, I like this one a lot, very good colors and you're right, the grunge theme matches the scan really well, even down to the expression on her face. It was also a great idea to work the pattering/brushwork into her cloths and such, that makes it look even nicer. Still, I think the red section of the title could stand to be just a little bit brighter so that it comes a little closer to the shade of her shirt and ties the two elements together a bit more. Also, I'm not sure what, but I think it could use a little extra finessing around the flower pattern area somehow. Of course those things aren't very big issues or anything n_n
What I don't like about this wall is the ... to pale skin part. I don't know .. it doesn't fit well... to bright for that grunge effect. Oh yeah, and the words ... I couldn't read at first, they blend to much. Anyways.. great mixing of colours and textures. You just gotta love that bakcground...

Well the text on this is kinda lost in the background...mabye you should try and make it a different color or excentuate it somehow with a cool pattern

I love the color scheme, and how the shirt sort of blends and goes along with the background, rather than having the background have nothing to do with the foreground. Nicely done.
