This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.
Lol Really? Wow You always seem to Surprise me tide-kun. Well hey im going to get some food and think about the nickname i'll make for you *Huggles* Take care Buddy Bai Bai =]
I actually started this during the summer but it was unexpectedly put on hold when my Harddrive died, I was able to recover it but I’ve been too busy to finish it before now.
Everything except for the characters was drawn up in Photoshop with the standard tools and I couldn’t really find any suitable butterfly brushes so I just did a free hand copy of a Bleach butterfly. I hope you guys like it and your comments are welcomed.
The scan I used is from the Anime Project Alliance gallery.
Teh buldings are a little geometrical looking for my taste, while the dots/sparkle are a little blurred.
i remember this scene in cowboy bebop the movie, yet i don't remember the butterflies being that red, i guess you should tone it down a bit to completely blend in with the wall.
good luck :)

Very nice background in this one. Good attention to detail with the cityscape. Also good use of lighting, although I feel that the characters should be a little darker as the source of light seems to be behind them. Other than that, very good wallpaper!
I like the wallpaper. The idea of the the stand off scene and butterflies in the air all at sunset time. It's like a complete freeze frame of the last scene in the movie. *love the movie :D* My hats off to you for great work done.
I need to say... always when i see the bebbop movie... a think... this scene make a perfect wallpaper! The spiek, sunset..a fire buterflyes... what more? And you do this! Thanks for sharing! ^^
Cool! really nice work I like your art and its awesome I like the whole plot in this wallpaper nice work keep it up and thanks for sharing. This goes to favorites for sure.
I love how their hair is blowing in the wind, and how you were able to recreate the butterflies from the movie. The coloring is great, and thanks for the wide variety of sizes.
Pretty damn cool. Really sets a strong mood with the colours and the depth of field leaving the butterfly out of focus is a great touch. The level of detail in the clouds and cityscape is just right to fit with the character artwork too. Favourited!
This scene is larger than life...
the only problem is: all the buildings (and there are quite many here) look like plastic boxes
the thumbnail on the other hand looks awesome
so my conclusion is: should have kept it smaller for a better feel
Woah.
You did an awsome job with this. I wish I had your talent in creating backrounnds because their is no way I could draw something like that...And the light effects you created are awsome as well.
Thumbs way up!

The butterflies are definitely a too stand off-ish, but the overall effect is really awesome, I like the scene, the colors, and the geometrical shape of the buildings, it's elegant, and pronounced...With a little touch up, particularly regarding the first couple of comments, I think this has a whole lot of potential to be an awesome wallpaper...
Great skills!
