Whoho! I'm back!
First of all I'd like to say, that GFX-Beta now officialy re-launched!

Putting that aside, lets see what exactly we created here.
It all started yesterday with Soichiro-nagi asking me how he could improve his wallpaper, which was rejected by animepaper.
Original:

So we spoke a few words over skype deciding which ideas we should take in and who should convert them into this wallpaper. As you can see, I did the designing work ;). Lets go into some detail:
First of all the render. What exactly did we change? We tried to give Kira his shinigami eyes, and I think they turned out quite good. We also gave Kira a light ball into his hand, to give the wallpaper more brightness.
The wallpaper consists out of the background gradient, which was created by using some blur filters, and some shape brushes. I tried to give Kira a tatoo, that you can see next to his lips. It turned out pretty good :).
Becouse of all those different techniques, we improved a wallpaper that is good looking yet has a dark feel on it. Just look at Kira, would you wan't to mess with him? Well, I definatly do not!

I REALLY like this wallpaper, and you're right Kira is not someone I would want to mess with based on this rendition. :D I love the bg gradient, as well as the bright ball he is holding, very impressive. It almost looks as if he is blending into the bg, definitely helped by the lip tatoo, and some of the blending. Very nice work, definitely a unique work, and I love it! <3 emoticon

This is the first comment I've made on any wallpaper simply because it's the first time I've felt compelled to do so.. This is a stunning piece of work I must say. it reminds me of looking at the backside of a animation cel used in tv "kind of a frosted glaze" dunno if that makes any sense. but anywho, great work, very very nice. Fav!

This is definately not one of your best works, you have made it
too much blurry, my poor eyes, can't focus at all.
the background dark red, somehow is not fitting well,
but that is just me, anyway its a nice themed wall.

Well, my opinion is somewhat mixed about this wallpaper. I really like the character in the foreground and the designs used for him. The way that there's a very unique type of blur and design surrounding him looks very nice, but the background seems way too simple. There is so much focus on the character and not enough on his surroundings. Maybe the gradient-type background could still have been used, but I think that there should have been some more of the type of design surrounding the character into the background. It would have brought everything together and made a very interesting piece. I do have to say that there was most definelty a lot of work put into the character used and it shows, just it might have been focused on a little too much. Just keep at the wallpapers and the only thing that can happen is improvement. I think I give this wallpaper one of two thumbs up.

Wow, I certainly don't. I really think that vector brushes wouldn't have worked with this wallpaper. It seems more inclined to work with grunge brushes, but how wrong was I? Really moody and atmospheric wallpaper. I can't resist adding it to my favourites!

This is a very good wall that displays the great ambition of Light/Raito. It shows how powerful he is capable of becoming. It's also great that you put evil into his eyes seeing as he is lol. Nice display of his aura and the good in his hands almost has if he has control of world. Thank you for introducing me to this wonderful peice that you uploaded to the internet. I thank you so much for this exilarating expirience.

Hmmmm. Very nice. I like this wall. It has a strong background and a good character in it to blend in with the background but not blend in with the background to much. I like the frozentype glaze that is put in to this work But i agree that's it is a D+ but nice try for this wall. keep up the work.

Hmm, I really like the idea of the wallpaper, as well as the colors chosen for it. The center pic looks marvellous in my opinion - a bit flashy, but I think I actually like it that way. It does seem rather empty at the edges though, and the gradient used in the background was a bit choppy for me, which was a bit jarring. I think the red you used was slightly too strong too. A bit of fixing, and I think it could be pretty good though.

O.k Wall, Could of been better but not bad. the back round is way too basic for me, you also did too much color shading. it worked well with the hair but the eyes looked better the way they wer b4. I do like a lot the imagery
you displayed around Light but you missed keeping it out of the body frame when you got to the head so kinda killed the look all around. all in all it could of looked a lot better with a real backing and a control color setting. "2*z"
