This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
When I saw the first episode of this series, I found it intriguing and different from the typical series nowadays -- based on a Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, it feels more like a Studio Ghibli film than anything else. I took a screenshot from the opening because I just liked the designs of the Snow Queen herself and the icy pedestal she was on. At first I was thinking of having her overlooking a snow-covered village with the Aurora overhead, but I couldn't find any good referencce pictures of snow-covered villages from above, so I went for an abstract, magic-summoning style of wallpaper instead, using Apophysis-designed fractals and snowflake brushes I made really quickly for the lighting effects.

Nice! Man I was waiting for this wallpaper to come out, Snow Queen is a nice anime n_n.
And what a bright wallpaper. Fractals do really their damn good job at giving the magical aura to the whole scene. And as always, nice typo... what's that font btw?
Ah the light! it's so bright! but the wall is still good. the swirling bright lights make the snow storm effect work with the snowflakes in the background. great job!

Oh my God Tama, this is beautiful! I'm totally in love with it. Was the ice from a reference material or did it come with the image?

I like how the focus really draws your eye in even though a majority of the scene has a white theme going on. It's not really blinding, though; it's more appropriate to suit the scene
Wow this is wonderful I've never seen the series but this really makes me want to. Wonderful job(Is it cold in here or is it just me?).Wow a night seen with her in it would be cool I love LOVE walls with snow coming down but I like them better when there at night tho you don't see very many of them I guess there hard to make I wouldn't no I don't no the first thing about makeing walls but I do no a good one when I see it. I love all of the effects going on in this wallpaper Tama. It's so magical, and the vector looks very clean and nicely done. I don't know though, I find the text sort of odd, maybe it is the position? Ah well, keep up the good work.
Fantastic job. I really feel an emanation of the overall feel of the series coming from this wall, and that's a good thing, because I really enjoyed the first ep of the series.
