This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
I havent finished watching this series, but i just had to make something from it because its so freaky! This scene in particular freaked the sh!t out of me. [episode4 btw]
if you havent seen; its basically: when he unlocks the door, she yanks it open but its stopped by the chain. She starts tugging on the chain saying "open the door...open the door..." he freaks out and smashes her fingers in the door! The reason the phrase "Why do you lie to me" is chosen because that is a kind of bold question you cant really answer easily [something usually asked by a phycho ex hehe]...It must be seen to understand what is pictured here.
the entire scene is vectored by me from screenshots i took as usual [i think that chain took the longest! friggin chain] > < I changed the eye up a little than it normally looks. i kinda wanted it to look like "The Eye of Mordor" from LordOfTheRings, but not quite. Still thinking if i should have a version of her yelling, but i kinda like the idea of "the calm before the storm" glare.
the shadow idea of Keiichi [who probably just crapped his pants] didnt come up until halfway through and i think it helped the suspense scene just right. it also helped darken the brighter side of the interior walls...maybe i shoulda added a light switch right there?
*just looked throught the scans of this series and hit myself because theres tons of stuff i could use instead of drawing my own stuff....
Absolutely love it, it really captures the horror both of that story arc and the series as a whole. I've seen few other wallpapers from this series quite as good as this one :)
Fav Scare, I truly love this moment in the show so this wall means a lot to me. every thing works fine but 2 things i would differ on would be, The shadow should look like he is holding a phone, And i think your trying to get a chalk effect for the text i would look around for a font with a better quality look. Still love it for making it! "4*z" !Thank You! =3
One of the coolest parts of the anime. Is very scary but the wallpaper is well done. I like it a lot, specially because it reminded me how scared I was.
