While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

I am surprised nobody else has walled this scan. Lelouch and CC looks so cool; maybe everyone is too afraid of the pain of having to clean it up. I gave up trying to clean it and vectored instead. I later vectored Suzaku too, just cause it looked strange that he wasn't vectored when the other two were. Karen didn't make it into the wallpaper unfortunatly, but I didn't like how she looked in there anyway.
The idea is that Lelouch is a chess genius, so he sees the battlefield as a chess board, there are pawns and generals. (the generals aren't coming out to fight him yet so they are in the background). I read somewhere that Suzaku is supposedly represented by a white knight: so even though you can't really tell that well without zooming in, he is holding a chess knight.

I'm personally a rabid fan of chess myself, so Code Geass holds a special place in my heart. (Yes, Lelouch, turn more live time battles into chess games...)
There only 2 nitpicky things that I find a little weird on the eyes. The first thing I have to comment on is the color shading. Perchance its the quality of the scan, but the color shades seem just a little drab. (Specifically, I refer to the hair colors of Suzaku and C.C.) The second thing is that the pawns look a little like fat bowling pins... Pawns are *supposedly* fatter on the top, but then again the actual image creation is probably different from what we usually envision them to be.
All in all, a fantastic wallpaper for Code Geass! Congratulations!

Perfect idea ^^v I liked it, because Lelouch is really a chess genius. I strange the part of chess, because are simillar a bolling XD But the wallpaper is very very nice ^^v

My main gripe is the giant pawn pieces, which look a bit awkward in the context of the paper. Going a bit too far with the theme when you already have it captured, so to speak; it sort of clutters the paper and just makes it so there's too much going on. I like the character shadows, but the overall feel of the paper is a bit more subdued and faded than it probably should be.
It's a good wallpaper, but just a few kinks that sort of make it less than it should be.
