This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
I made this wall as a part of the S-A-I-Y-U-K-I group wall contest. I based it off of the song "Open Up Your Mind" Which is apparently a random background song, but since it had a few english phrases in it, I used it... Well, that and the fact that the phrase I noticed most was "Take another look from the other side." In other words, this is my representation of taking a look from the other side, or taking a look at that other side, and opening your mind to the possibilities... I tried to make this seem like a picture in a frame, the reason for the slightly blue-ish tint is because glass is often times slightly tinted a light blue... I don't know if I represented that well or not, but I like how this came out. I hope you guys like this as well.
Not bad, not bad :D I like the monochromaticy of the wall [of course, this is monochromatic minus the middle of the camera :O]. Speaking of the SAIYUKI challenge, I should start my own wall... gah ;-; But really; it's a simple wall, and it captures Hakkai's spirit :D Solid walling job.

At first glance this wallpaper looked really amazing. However, when I took a full view of it, I realized that the picture isn't as amazing as I had first thought. It is really interesting but the quality of the wallpaper is poor. I think it would do to re-CG it. Maybe it's just me... Sorry... I'm sort of picky.
...I GASPed when I first saw this wall. I was stunned, by the awesome representation of Hakkai in here, and the fact that this picture is one of my favourite of him does have an effect. I like your idea, and at first glance the wall looks pretty nice...but looking longer, I find Hakkai's face to be a bit too ghostly. I know you meant to create the photo underneath the glass feeling, but...instead I see a ghost Hakkai >_< anyway, still pretty nice wall though, and it's definitely one of my favourites ^_^ keep up with the good job!
Awesome. The focus on Hakkai's picture is great. I like the fact that only the lens of of the camera are coloured. The monotony of the wallpaper gives a nice yet somewhat haunting feeling. But I feel that it might look better with there was a glassy texture on the picture, from the photo frame. Either that, or the glass effect is really not visible there.
This is a great wallpaper. I like your grayscale wallpaper and I also like the picture of Hakkai. He is very smart. I like him so much. Thank you for sharing your wallpaper.

If you were going for an overall 'metallic' effect, you've done it quite nicely your color selection. I especially like Hakkai's overall expression and the shadows around him which heightens it even more.
