This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

to the sky -- Kobayashi Issa
This is my entry to Paint-o-Rama's Feudal Japan contest.
I found the scan to be interesting in composition - the simplicity in the trees framing a round bridge with a geisha made a not-so-typical scenic setting, plus the orange-y autumn colors were quite refreshing. This wallpaper was basically extended in Illustrator, repainted (twice - once for watercolor and once for blending) in Painter, and then post-production was completed in Photoshop. You can see the details in my step-wise tutorial.
I found the haiku with Google - originally I was looking for one by Basho, but I found an excellent resource for Issa haiku that was even sorted by seasons - perfect for finding a fitting fall poem for the setting. More resolutions for the not-so-widescreen crowd
Gorgeous. Basho has great haiku's, but at times I find Issa's more poignant. If you've read his life history, his haikus will definitely hit a painful note in your heart and also a great deal of empathy. Great wall!

Definitely my desktop bg, I love the watercolor/painting effect, it makes me feel like I am looking at something other than a computer screen, especially with all the icons cleared :D. As much as I love it, it is simple, and I feel like there should be something more happening, although that may well lose the peaceful effect it has...good work, and the title sold me on it before I really had a chance to examine it.
The background is beautiful, the mountains, the trees, the sun, setting beyond the bridge... the colors are very nice, fitting to the theme. The woman on the bridge seems a bit lonely, but she fits to the background well. The title is good, too, nice wallpaper!
I always loved your work ^^ Each one of your walls is creative, original, and well-made. Keep on walling...I'm sure you'll conquer everyone's desktops soon enough :)
I love this one..thats really really nice, especially the color and the layer design
soft and attractive...nice effect, everything have a well match when come together
I just not really like the most right hand side that tree's shadow...seems like a dinosaur =.=
anyway, its really a great job!! you did a good work!!
