This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
First of all, I used a stock photo and had three layers of the stock itself, and had it on blend modes, changed the color balance, hue and saturation, levels, contrast, and had a painted filter slightly one of them, plus I rotated them to give the effect of her falling. I extracted out the stocks, and made my own sky, with cloud brushes of different colors, on blend modes, and I used a lighting effects filter to give it an angle for the light on the buildings. I had some clouds in there on overlay on top of a couple of buildings slighty to give the look of some of the clouds above's shadow casted on the buildings. I even think I got a little creative with the text.
I thought this one was one of my most creative ones so far! I know Starr and my sister thingperson likes it at least. XDI had always wanted to use this scan so badly, but couldn't think of anything till last night when it hit me like that *hehe*. Im really proud of it, I hope you all like it to. Ahh Im so exicted I cant type right, so sorry if this description sounds messed up ^_^' Thanks so much. Yay, comments and favs are always welcomed.
Good choice on the rotation of the picture, it's just right for this scene you are portraying. That's a first and given. The sunlight highlights are my favorite details on this piece; very realistic.
I personally would of liked to see some depth of field usage on this piece, however, I think we would lose the feeling of "falling".
All and all, I find this piece interesting and very pleasant to wall, even though the title contains the word "falling" :P
The perspective was right, and the bg were nicely edited. i really like the way the scan was finished; those shading effects. and indeed this wall is creative, keep it up.
From your descriptions, going through the steps you used for this wall, I really can see the effort in producing this wall.. You've hit it off here with one good wall. You really should be proud of your work here.. Cause it's definitely going to my favourites! ^^
Great stuff, and I like the effort you put into your wall.. Goes to say that if you put your heart and soul into your wallpaper, it's going to come out very very well..!
Talk about realism in motion! The background is really fitting and the character simply matches the background. The theme is clearly illustrated in the wall! A Fav
I didn't realize there's a girl in NitroPlus...since it's BL...(*gets bricked*)
Hehe, but nice wall. XDXD
Though I wouldn't catch her if I were down there...(heck, are you kidding? I'd be crush to death! Two lives are lost instead of one and nothing can be accomplished!)
Ahem...anyway. XDXD
I love the background. A lot of people are walling with highrises nowadays.
(for some reason)
But I would have thought it would be better if turn the character's angle a bit.
Right now it does look like she's falling, but only closer inspection of the buildings behind her. If I were you I'd make her angle more steep to increase the dramatic effect of falling.
Then again, maybe you're limited by the size of your scan??
Anywho, nice job! :D

I do think this is a beautiful wall, great job with the whole concept behind it. I actually like the words on this one too ^^ I think they go well with the walls detail. Position of the model is great too, and the hair is second-to-none. Good job
This was the fist thing I saw when I opened the page. WoW!
You state that is was simple but it looks great.
When I looked at it I thought first off was that
She was stand on a blacony peering over the edge catching the wind of the cool morning breeze.
