This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
If I saw the scan I decided to create a wall of it - reconstructed a part of the orginal background. Was not easy to find a text for this one.. the girl works good alone but I liked to write some words on it - isnt so empty on the left side now =p.
Okay the idea is not yours but still it looks great and the left side is also quite nicely done. the perspective is a bit off i guess but overall it's nicely done. i like the font.
This reminds me too much of the original scan. to be honest its kinda empty =/ and i dont get quite the special feeling about this wallpaper. good try though because i failed at making a wallpaper with that character on it...i might try it again
The shadows of the girl on the wall make her look like she's not leaning against the wall, but more as standing really close. You did a nice job of creating the walls though, and the stars are a nice touch. All of the shapes look really good, and in general this is a really great wallpaper from you.
:3 I've already commented on MT, but I'll comment again. I like how it's really simple, yet there are those tiny details, you know? The scan you chose is very nice, I think you have really good taste Asahi! XD

Very nicely done, I really like the sense of distance what you did to reconstruct the original scan. My only complaint is with the text, it's kind of hard to red (though very creative), and the shadows on the glass don't look quite perfect to me (but still very nice). Overall, a really nice job.
Interesting, but I find it a little hard to work out what's going on. Is she leaning against a window on a big red space station? The left edge of the red wall looks a bit jagged, and I'd have made the spacescape darker so it contrasts with her whiteness and looks deeper. The planet is OK, but I guess the wall as a whole is a bit lacking for me :0
I like your idea. The simplicity is really refreshing, but the perspective and lighting make this wall a bit incoherent. And yeah, the red wall is jagged. It's the first thing I noticed. Personally I don't like walls with text right in the middle of them, either, but I really like your style overall. Looking forward to your next work.
At first glance it looks quite nice but if you look closer onto it you see that you didn't do your work properly. This perspective is quite easy but you managed to mess it up (the angles are totally wrong on the left side) @.@
Oh I love your style! Very fresh :D.
Some critiques:
- The scan doesn't look like it was edited much, but merely wanded and pasted. There is a bit of jittering there that doesn't really fit the background, which looks smooth. But you know what, this difference in texture is kinda interesting. Adds a new twist that isn't often seen on anime walls :).
- The jagged edges part is valid. At first glance I would also say that they should probably be smoothed out better. However, on second thought this also seems to add style to the wall as a whole. The jittered girl, and the jagged edges, the tilted atmosphere..what an unbalanced world you have created! ^_^ Pure awesomeness.
Really good points:
- The contrasting differences in techniques that you have used in this wallpaper are fascinating. Leaves the viewer in a very curious atmosphere. Beautiful.
- I love the background composition. The tilted walls not only go diagonally, but they fall into the depths of a starry evening sky. The moon is definitely a nice touch, too - especially for its unusually large size.
I really enjoyed this wallpaper. My best way of describing it is it was an Adventure, capitol A and all :).

Its sort of a plain and simple wallie. Are the darken parts on the walls shadows? cause the shadow of the character overlaps with it. But I do not thing the pespective of the left hand side is off. It gives me a kind of a high-tech space station interior. Maybe you could have added glass-effects in between the two panals to show there is a piece of glass so as to 'join' the 2 walls together. What it is most lacking is the left hand side is very very plain. The fonts could have been more artistic and another colour would have been better. At one glance, I didnt even notice there was writings on the left hand side. Plus, to solve the problem of the 2 panels, maybe the grey stips coming slanted from the right could have been continued all the way to the left with a bend at the turning , so its like a 45degree slant from the right to a horizontal all the way to the left. Hope it helps.
The background definatly needs a lot more attention. Right now its too plain and simple. It needs more designs and some patters to really kick it off. I like the idea of using abstract shapes, maybe you can use that and do some kool special effects to make it look more attractive? And some kool text somewhere in there would help too
Its a little plain but still
good maybe if you put something in
it like a little kitten
you know not a fluffly
cute one but one that someone
would find in an ally or somthing
but its still good
