While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Another room wallpaper...
I wanted to make a dark wallpaper.. cause all the others are pinky... and well.. boys don't like pink stuff.. and me neither :P ... Black is my favourite color!
The character was really jagged so i had to paint it over by hand in many places.. and complete the ears cause it ended incomplete...
The furniture.. curtains.. window.. frame are vectored...
I used some brushes for the outside scene... and added the candle using brushes and painting by hand, cause it was too realistic at first..

Ah this is a perfect addition to my dark desktop color scheme - it really looks so pretty. I do like the eerie effect of the setting - its not easy to create an atmosphere like that, that still manages to look convincing. A job very well done. Thank you for the great wallpaper. :)

The clouds were simple, but mainly the idea of how you hid those areas that was cut off from the scan.
Your lighting effects are just different and something that is very distinctive. Meaning you're the only one that could use those kind of lights.
As for the night to day I thought your way was better than the scan because it was too dark from the other one.
I'm definately awaiting to see more from you if you still plan to make more
