After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!
This wall is made for Vectorness January Monthly Challenge, and the theme of this time is " Hatsuyume" (first dream of the new year).
here's some more details:
Limitations: A hatsuyume is considered very fortuitous if you dream of several particular items. Therefore, your wall must contain at least one of the following:
a) Mt Fuji
b) A hawk
c) An eggplant
Like many other anime fans, going to Japan might be something I always dreamed about. So I decided to make a hatsuyume of mine about it. Miyazaki's Totoro became my first choice. To show this is a "dream", I combined the imagine (the Cat Bus) and some Daily Life Scence (A typical bus stop at Vancouver, where I live) together. so the basic idea of my dream is a cat bus comes to Northn America and take me to japan 0 0 very simple theme.
To apply the challenge rule, Mt Fuji and eggplants are hidden in this wall 0_0, main character and bus stop was vectorized in illustrator, others are done in Photoshop.
edit: I may vectorize more part of it if I have time.

I like the yellows and orange used, I like how you introduce the bus cat in this charasteristic place, but I don't like the film about pinguim of this past Christmas :( ohh The mobil means that you got a good persons and someone gave you one!! how many beers do you have to drink If you whant that the bus cat come to your hose for a nights of parties? You are my hero for designing a wallpaper featuring the Cat bus. I thought the whole concept was original and very creative, I like that you used pictures of current interests for the advertisements. The color scheme is delightful as well. Great Job!

This is the first wall that I've seen of the Catbus rather than totoro itself :)
I like how you designed the ads on the bus waiting area & the vector of the catbus is pretty good.
There's one thing that is sort of bother ing me & that's the top right corner, the coloring of the building...
I think you should have just vectored it than giving it a painted effect.
Anyways, keep up the good work & I look forward to your future works :D

There are a few details that I think could use some work (like the pixelated outlines of the background windows, or the rather bland vector of the back half of the catbus), but the overall concept and those excellent advertisements are wonderful, and totally make up for it.

my only complaint are the ads.. that mobile ad there grabs a bit too much of my attention.. they sort of, I don't know, kill off the romantic concept abit? =/ maybe if it's downtoned a bit...

The background is nice, the nightly city looks really good. The... character looks good too in this environment, the lights are nice, too. Good wallpaper.
Lol my hatsuyume was me driving a school car, hope it's good for me! Awesome wallpaper! It's great because it's so rarely to see Totoro wallpapers! This one is wonderful, the vector is very well done and the idea is pretty, a catbus in the town I like the idea :) So good job, and keep it up. Favorite of course! (ps : nice avatar and nickname, it's funny for a french to see your nick ^^)

This is really good! I love how it has adverts from things that are real, like the happy feet advert, it is really clever how you did it. I also like the cool cat bus

Very nicely done. But somehow I think the bus isn't matching the background? I mean, the bus looks too clean for the "dirty-ish" background.
But otherwise. this is a good wall. Gaah, I just don't know to do this theme...
