My apologies, after points out from shinn and stulz i realised that they were right and that this wallpaper cant live up to high levels. The right plane/cockpit is sharp and clear and the rest of the wallpaper blurry/painted lookalike. This might be not very pleasant to see since both difference from eachother.
The reason i did it this way cous most of the stuff you see came from the scan, both planes came from the original scan and there was 1 plane sharp and the other one blurred. That way it is not really possible for me to make the rest of the background sharper ore just as sharp as the right plane.
At the moment i have the feeling my reputation isnt deserved, i might be senior member but that doesnt mean i can wall as good as some other people. And right now i have the fealing the possible high lvls of this wall is just as blurry as the left plane :p so my apologies for not making this wall perfect, so that it would get highlighted ore something in that direction
Some quotes i found fitting for this wallpaper: We have nothing to fear but fear itself
Cry Havoc and Unleash the Dogs of War
We Few, We Happy Few, We Band of Brothers; For He Who Sheds His Blood With Me Shall Be My Brother
I found a scan in a long unseen part of my image section, i rememberd trying to work with it before but i cannot remember why i did not pursuisited it back then.
This wall had me figured out for some while on how i should do it and in what way, i ended up rotating it creating a more horizontal-way for the main person to be seen (HE IS IN THAT PLANE ON THE RIGHT),
this caused the interesting way the horizon is turned and might give you the idea of riding the plane and being part of it.
Thanks to the rotation i needed to fill up a triangle of white that appeard on the left bottom, fixed this whut some clone-stamp and blur/smudging. Hope this cant be seen so that it gives a more whole feeling :P After that duplicated the layer did some visual improvements and changed the colours to a bit more blue-ish.
Then the only part bugging me was the dark parts of the sky, took them out and adjusted them into these more fluing smoother parts, i also did the same a bit more heavier on the cockpit to make it look that its filterd glass.
In the end i am satisfied, lately been having to much on my mind and so many more stuff i needed to do, somtimes it appears to much but in the end im the only one to blame.
Oohyeash a few weeks back i asked for apliance at the CO and if i get admitted into there ranks this will be my submission for there 'happiness is in the eye of the beholder' contest. Just that yall know
A maybe improvement for those who want/like itive made a widescreen version of the wall, it aint the uber-max widescreen but this was most possible and best to do. the whole left part (about 200 pix) i needed to add, did this whith the help of a trusty friend :P
ENJOY

Nice! You added a great atmosphere to the wall! I love the depth that you have featured, and how you make the viewer fell like they are in the air and moving. Great job!
Pretty freakin cool. Though I would have like to see a little more detail on the left plane. That to me would have made it better but if you were going for a more painted look it looks awesome. I like the way you treated the character on the right, sounds like it took you awhile to figure this one out.
There's one problem with your wallpaper, and it's that it shouldn't be that blurry. Since the foreground element is on the right corner, you absolutely cannot have that background (sky, the other jet, etc) that blurry and smudgy because when the eyes will rest on the center they'll obviously notice that, and it's not pleasant. Second thing, I don't get if you applied some texture, or if it was the scan but it gives the feeling as if the background was a bad quality scan with noise and artifacts on it. This is a wallpaper that has potential to be far way better, I really like your idea and concept for this but if it was better executed, cleaner and sharper (throw the smudge tool away, it's really a tool that gets wrongly used most of the times) it would definetely be highlight material.
Personally, I don't think that the blurriness is drastic enough to prevent this wallpaper from being used as what it is intended to be, as a desktop wallpaper. True, the bg could match the cockpit more in quality, but overall I think that you accomplished a great deal in setting up an unusual perspective and making a colorful bg to match it.
I think many people lose fact that wallpapers are meant to be wallpapers, and not exactly perfect works of art. The whole point of them is to make our desktops look vibrant and distinct, and you have obviously accomplished that. Great work ^^ +fav for a job well done.
What's great about this wallpaper is the sky. From a pinkish purple to lavender it makes it look...well...pretty. Anyways, there are some spots are much to blurry but disregard that this wallpaper is amazing. (+fave)n_n
Hey.. That turned out really well. I like the perspective and the color scheme. I've been looking for a jet wallpaper but always look at Macross Plus. I didn't think of Yukikaze.
I just took the moment to fullview the wallpaper - the thumbnail looked quite impressive. And on a side note, what happened to your GITS wallpaper yesterday? (I think I recall you putting that up). IMO it was really good as well.
But yeah, on to the critique.. uh.. as %ShiNN had pointed out, the blurriness bothers me a bit.. perhaps you may have tried to divert the focus to the scan on the right, but that is only true if only the user looks at that part of the screen. I don't think that'll happen very often, since I'm looking all over the display quite often.
My suggestions would be to remove the blurriness of course - it's more pleasant to the eye, and it won't confuse myself into thinking my vision is going bad (=p). Take your GITS wall for example with the city in the BG - the sharp details are quite more appealing.
Anyways, in overall effect the wallpaper is good and has a unique view to it - and there is always room for improvement. The comments you made in red are also quite shocking to me - this shouldn't be your attitude when submitting walls; it's simply disturbing. You should be proud of your works.
Devil's Advocate Time! -- I think the contrast between the blurry and the clear portions is actually pretty pleasing to the eye. :) I don't really think you have anything to apologize for here, though Im sure everyone appreciates the gesture. I for one think it kicks ass.
That wallpaper is so guhh. The pink is so shiny and pretty XD. The angle is awesome too. I don't mind the blurriness. It's not that visible if you don't focus on it too much. Don't worry, there's no such thing as perfect ^ ^. People are just being picky XD. Love the colours you chose.
You gave the most important critic yourself: although the quality of the wall is great, the very nicely worked out, sharp right part doesn't manage to match the blurry clouds. I can understand the problems you had trying to fix this, I think the only solution would be redrawing all clouds and stuff, but that would defenitely have driven you crazy. Another thing though, is the purple color dominating the wall. I personally don't like purple at all, but this purple, kinda pink color doesn't feel naturally in my opinion. Note it's a realistic wall, so it is of some importance. It's hard to explain, but the color use, dark and purple gives me a bit cold idea, while the low sun and the reflection of the cockpit should be expressing warmth.
The whole concept of the wall is very much of my liking, so big credits for that, the right part is done very good, with the reflections and positions and all. The main issue holding me from +faving it is the too much blurred background and the purple color.
By the way I also thought of giving comment on the lack of text, but since the only space for the text (lower left part) is so blurry, any text (which is always sharp) would never have matched. So wise choice to not include any text.
Good luck with your next project(s).
This is INSTANT LOVE ~ (even though I would prefer it without the blurries) but overall it definitely ends up on my desktop. (Me being a huge fan of the series contributes) ^__^ +fav.
