Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!
I have found my style of wallpapers is unique in that I like to keep it simple. I have a number of icons on my desktop that take up the left side of the screen so I like to keep that space open and free, yet not make it too boring either. So that is the motivation for most of my wallpapers being designed in a manner where the subject is to the right and left side is left rather open. I like to call it the practical application style LOL!
I loved this render of Shikamaru, it showed a lot of personality and was very easy to make a smooth extraction. Green is such a good color that I wanted to carry that on in the background and it was pleasing to my eyes.
On the background I used a number of fractal brushes until I got the design that looked good to me, and then I wanted to go for a chaotic colored square grid pattern (if that makes sense). In hindsite I would have blended those squares in a little better, but I think its still good to go! The motion blur has been a source of controversy, I was trying to make light beams to help blend the paper together...I like it, but some dont. I dropped a few shadows here and there to add depth and *poof* I liked the final product!
