This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
What I did with this wallpaper was. I Cleaned up the scan in 2:30 hours. Its some scan that comes from the deathgod.org website. It became my fave scan in a short while. What I did was I played around with gradients etc. Some that didnt work well. I downloaded a couple of textures. One of which is an old piece of paper that is over 400 Years old. I used it to create that "skin-paper" look. I wanted to create a similar thing of what is on the characters body, but with a big color difference, so I went and draw the skin layout of the what I want and repainted it inside Photoshop. For a little more color I added the Character in the back, just a little bit bigger and made it a watermark. I worked on it for a week or so and I'm happy with the results I got.
So we meet again dude... but i wont be messin with ya this time
you did a fantastic job on the scan and even the bg is very fitting this time
well, i still think that the japanese title could be bigger or some other color, it gets a lil bit lost loke this, no big deal
the dudes copy in the bg is almost im possible to detect unless you give it a real good look, but i kinda like the trickiness, since it doesnt ruin anything
my suggestion would be to shade the stitches
they are in fact quite big and id espect them to have their own shadows
anyway, great wall, keep it this way
I'll tell you this: I won't be using this wallpaper as my desktop!
A very wonderful wall. Everything looks tied in together.
Awesome jobbb~ Keep it up.
Ooo, neato! The BG corresponds to the image pretty nicely! Seeing his face again on the back... I think that can be replaced by something else like the bone on the other side.
This is one of the best wallpapers I have ever seen. Everything flows perfectly, from the colors to the subject and background. The lighting is wonderful and the picture overall is very sharp and crisp. An absolutely stunning job, I hope to see more of your work.
Its definitely a very unique wallpaper you got there, but in a good way..
you said you wanted to make the background look something like whats on his body, mate, you did a great job there, cause it blended in perfectly well with the character..
the dark colours and the mysterious theme of the background fitted well with the characters personality
of course i would have drooled over the picture if he was just shirtless with no marks on his body... but thats just the fan girl in me talking xdxD

OMG that's SO cool~!*__________* don't who it is but hes cool!
and death note is cool as well~!X3 anyway i like the image and the background you
made to make it look good together *-* great job!
Very interesting wall you have here. Not too many people make walls that feature animal skins as the background XD Overall, really nice execution. The skin textures look really good. You really didn't need to add the bigger version of the character in the bg, but that's just my opinion. Nice work ^^
Damn... Nice concept, especially the bg witch is nicely designed. Imprinting the character on the sheets of skin/paper in the bg works really well. Though only my opinion, but maybe you should have mirrored everything, so that the text is near where the the desktop icons whould be and the character away from it
You definitely have some wall making skills and your wall shows it :)

I like the wall...but the subject and bg don't really seem to blend well. the bg's too REAL....and the scan is a little too scratchy for my taste. but hey, well thought out, great idea. am no good at those myself but am good at appreciating good ones i think. hehehe. oh and, u've used a shadow under one foot, whether intentionally or not, but none under the other foot thus making it look like it's floating in the air.

Why?? This is definitely one of the most beautiful wall I've ever seen *________*
Can't believe that one could make such a creative wallie. I fuckin' love the way you deal with the scan, making it shines gorgeously like that :"> It's so neat, and the color's so great! And the background realy trike me. Awesome!! If I weren't told I'd have thought that this is the author's original illustration, coz it just fit damnly.
Have the feeling that I'm seeing Death himself
Thanks to ya, genius wallie-making.
