This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
This wallpaper i made was just made under a days work. I wanted a wallpaper for my computer that had a japanese taste to it. After watching bleach, peace maker kurogane, i started to appreciate japanese culture like I never did before. So I started making wallpapers with "japanese nature". With this wall I took a stock photo of a japanese house with cherry blossoms. Using textures from Resurgere, i managed to get just the right touch for it. It took me quite a long time to switch and basically trial and error for it. I also used a scan from this website's archive.
For the title, I had a number of variations to it like "Fear my Sword", "Behold my Power" but ended up with "Taste My Sword". It matches the character's youthfulness better.
Overall I'm really proud of this wallpaper and personally this is the best out of my works. I hope all of you enjoy this wallpaper like I have.

I am sorry i could not stick around to give you more comments. ^^; for me, it was time to log off for the day so i had to go. the extraction is much better. and the text fits. that whole suggestion about the texture thing isn't a big deal at all, just that personally i prefer textures that do not look completely uniform (and even with textures that are not uniform, i like to patch and blend). i speak for only my weird self so your texture works just fine. xD good work here and hope to see more from you in the future. :]
Well, I think the effect looks nice, personally. The craqueluer effect on the background looks quite nice with the ancient-painting style effects going on. The color washing is an effective technique on the subject, and the 2/3 positioning is very nice. The only distracting aspect for me is that my eye wants to follow his arms, which leads me off the wall. That's not a very big deal, and can easily be described as an artistic choice and attention effect. I've seen lots of great papers that use that technique.
Well done, sir. I will use this as my background, and so . . . add it to my favorites.

I like the whole concept how the background is in ancient japan with the character. It's cool! I'm not too sure if the font though... Anyhow it's good.

I just wanted to say that the background reminds me of Resident evil 4 somehow. I can only imagine what having Yunseong with SC controls in that game would do for it. Nice wall though.
The background is very nice, especially the trees, and the bridge, but the building in the center is good, too. The character may looks a bit weird in this kind of clothes in this environment, anyway, nice wallpaper.
Something different .... something extraordinary .... something great ..... the most thing I like about this wall is the effect you used on the character .. it is realy a favorite for me ... well done

I absolutely love the overall color scheme of this wallpaper. Both the background and foreground images are very nice. You did a very good job making them go together well. Needless to say, it looks like you've put a lot of time and effort into this one. Great job!
