This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.
Great, now im going psycho... it may be possible ive been spending a few hours searching for a scan that i think i saw but truly never existed... it was all in my head =.=;
Many moons of frustration this wall gave me, as I had no idea of what to do with the scan I traced after coming across the origanal while reading the manga. Started with a basic idea of what I wanted it to be, but evolved millions of years into what it is today. One of my first walls this one, and wanted to keep it simple, so tell me how you like it :)
I liked this wallpaper a lot! The simplicity and the background design all went rather well together ^^ And ah, that's always been a favorite scan, so yay~
I basically like the work you've done on the scan ^^ and I like how you chose to feature your character on the wallpaper.
I think that I would have chosen to put the silhouette of another character than L on the background, maybe Raito...
I don't think that you needed all those text frames with "Death Note" written all over.
Still, it's a nice wallpaper, so keep it up!
It shocked me. Seriousely. L standing STRAIGHT!? not sitting crippled as if afraid of taking more place, or while standing, as if the ceiling was too low? It was always impossible to see him in in a deecent posture, making him look like a man. Was it hard to find the scan?
Anyway, as for the wall: you gave L's posture gray shades surrounding lines. However not in the background [writings and all] and he looks a bit strange [especially his chest, there it's darkening]. It'd be better to leave it flat, no gray accent [that looks a bit fake, by the way since it's the same in every place]. It would make the wall simplier, and more integrated.

Well, I personally think that your wall's bg should've be darker than that...
And I agree with Byakuya-sama's idea about putting another character silhouette.
